Does anyone use a gamepad like a 360 controller to play this game? If it hasn't been enabled yet, has there been any word about it being used in the game other than a joystick?

Just wondering.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone ask to use a console controller for MWO.... there is so much you'd lose out on.

This isn't a News item, not sure what compelled you to post here... but a moderator will surely move it.


I think you technically sorta can use a 360 controller, its just it will behave like a joystick, so for instance those triggers like on an X360 gamepad are considered analog axis so you won't likely be able to use them to shoot weapons without using some kind of 3rd party application to map them to buttons.

So I guess the answer is Yes, but only if you're willing to accept its shortcomings or manually work around them. If you try looking through other, more appropriate forum sections you may find other threads already created with players who have figured this out.


My humble opinion however is that you stick to keyboard and mouse, otherwise you'll be gimping yourself against other players.
