So with Paul Inouye's post today it looks like we will be starting in the Oberlin Confederation with only a few small planets

http://mwomercs.com/...urning-to-3049/

Quote

When Community Warfare is ready, the Clans will only occupy a small number of planets. This is where players will have the ability to follow a recreation of the Clan Invasion by forcing their way down into FRR territory and harassing House Steiner and House Kurita along the way. However, if the Inner Sphere players are organized, they can even change the course of BattleTech history and try to stop the Clans in their tracks.

Regarding the 3 additional clans that join the invasion in Wave 4 (Clan Nova Cat and Clan Steel Viper) and just after Wave 5 (Clan Diamond Shark), we are planning on pulling them into the conflict closer to their reveal dates next year (i.e. as soon as possible).

I was thinking we were going to start at Strana Mechty which would take us awhile to jump to the IS and provide us a safe haven, but it appears we are a lot closer, which means if we occupy only a few planets. What are chances we will be owned in the first couple of days if the IS decides to push on the oberlin confederation territory? It's going to be a tough road ahead for sure, should be exciting

Last I checked, CW was just going to be pushing borders around - no wiping factions off the map, so if you start that small, you are probably going to be keeping most if not all the planets you start with, regardless of player action.

I can't say much about this other than it sounds awesome. Thanks for the link because I didn't see this post as I usually don't go to the command chair.

I just wonder if we can have 1 Inner Sphere Pilot, 1 Clan Pilot if we are limited to certain mechs in Community Warfare. If so I'll probably be a Kurita/Ghost Bear player.

I still want to pick Goliath Scorpion, though they didn't do anything with the invasion with the exception of a few people. They care too much about reforming the Star League to bother fighting in wars which means they'll probably never get in MWO. ;)

Depending on who gets what mechs, I'll either stay Kurita (Dragon, Jenner, Catapult, Samurai Honor, PPCs, Missles) or go to Ghost Bear (Mad Dog is my favorite Mech + I like to "support" teams that love to use super heavy mechs).

Sorry Nova Cat, Shadow cat is my #3 favorite designed mech and it has what I want in a sniper mech (Fast, Gauss dedicated, Jumpjets), but that isn't enough to make me want to choose you over Draconis Combine.

You keep apologizing as if it hurts us somehow. People are people. You cannot be perfect, after all. We do not take it personally. ;)

Yea i like Goliath scorpion too ! Sarna.net has them listed as a home clan till 3075, so we only have to wait 16 years real time for our tags. Rejoice trohkin their are only three clans that never invade the IS (cloud cobra, coyote, star adder). So we will eventually see the other clans in the IS.

To be serious hopefully they decide to forward the timeline somewhat, at least to operation bulldog

Fixed that for you - because as awesome as you are, there are people out there who are less awesome.

To my knowledge, the plan is, you only get 1 pilot per account - but can change allegiances.

I have nothing to back that up though.

Star Adders never invaded the IS? That's hard to believe since they are crusaders..... Though it would explain why they were able to kill off a few of the other clans.

On a side note, 16 years? That's a mighty long time to wait. Gonna hope for a skip in time.

We'll just have and see what their plans are for CW then. :)

The clans did not have the resources to move more than a few clans to the IS for the invasion - and the SA never won the trials to participate.

If I'm not mistaken the IS will be punching the hell out of each other. Also, I think the "homeworlds" you will start with in the I.S. will not be capturable. Otherwise, the possibility of being fully annihilated will be there.

I vote we just go after the Kuritans for the first year or so, then Steiner and after that we go to Earth.

If you're starting in the Oberon Confederation The FRR, and the Fedcom will be closer than the Draconis Combine.

Seconded. Not like I have a battleaxe to grind against the Snakes or anything.....

More like a savashri Warhawk.
