I'm not 100% sure if this is the right place for this type of thread.
I've been gone a while from the internet-gaming comunity and I was wondering what the current popularity of MWO is. I don't want to see this great game die and be forgotten.

So, it's a great game and you want it to succeed, but you don't play it?

Must make my name eternal. Must build the fastest Assault Mech ever. Must Hop out of cockpit and hide in apartment building while the Mechs destroy all structures in my vicinity.

It's not too bad. The first step out the front door may blind you temporarily but then you realize that the sun seems to be the same circumference as the moon.

Unfortunately none of us can really answer your question. According the the Devs (and their representative Garth) the game is doing very well. And as far as I'm aware there isn't any objective data to refute this. Now whether or not you chose to believe this is of course up to you. Companies after all do have a vested interest in looking good to the public.
My personal feeling is that the game is doing pretty well, it might not be a runaway success like WoTs or LoL but it has a devoted core and the potential for more public appeal down the road and I expect the game to continue for many years to come.

I agree I don't think its going anywhere. IT will never shut down if thats what people are worried about. It has enough of a cult following that pours money into the game to keep it alive, and is doing fine when compared to other pc games. Even if it drops to only a couple hundred people at a given time, its enough to find matches. I've only got the unable to find match once. I can count it on one finger.
