You are awesome!

I'm looking forward to more pixel art from you and hopefully the rest of the gang (the remaining 'Mechs) and/or specific variants/updated designs.

*hands over internet medal*

Thank you very much for this. Much love!

Five new mechs. =]
Feedback/criticism is welcome. I'm not happy with the Shadowcat, the Warhammer is alright, and something is off about he Longbow. Pretty happy with the other two, though. Cauldron-Born looks better in different colour - that's in my sig.

I quite like the Shadowcat, Bushwacker and Ebon Jaguar. There's some technical pixel art tricks that would improve your art if you learned about it (like avoiding banding), but I won't get into it here. My main criticism is that it's still kind of hard to get a sense of volume from looking at the upright mechs, like the Longbow and Warhammer. Particularly their legs.

Hehe, you can tell which legs I stole from you and which ones I had to invent myself. I can usually see the issues (like the banding in the longbow and the terrible aliasing in the loki/warhammer), but I don't know how to resolve them while still inferring the shape I want. I think I'm just using too much of the light end of the palette.

I'll start looking at tutorials or something, but if you have any advice feel free to PM or send along some links. I might make a few clan mechs on the side to see what I can learn from how you'd do them differently.

I think you just click the image for a bigger size then use a photo editing program to cut the ones you want out of the sheet.
Hoppr this helps.

I got them from screenshots made in original MechCommander. Though I've edited them a bit to represent different Alt. Configurations and form a Talon star.

Thanks, I'll have to "redesign" to fix some stuff now that we have the models ingame ^^

First off, I really like the look of that black Raven*, I might have to borrow that palette. :D
*haha, I just realised how appropriate that is...
Second, if you're going to put these on a light background, you might need to anti-alias them a little bit and/or play with the palette. The darker background is more forgiving, but a light one makes some things look weird.

Third, constructive criticism, if you don't mind: with the kitfox, you sorta copied the look of the wireframe, and I like it, it's different, but it doesn't match the rest very well and lacks some shape/depth. Think about how the light would hit a 3D model (or think look at Alistair's mechs and try to imagine where his lightsource is based on the shading he's done.)

Just wanted to say thank you very much for your constructive critism and tips.
I also learned already that with light and shadow your pixel art really becomes alive (or becomes not )

Also i wanted to add my great respect to Alistair Winter for drawing these little beasts. Now that i already had a closer look inside the creation of such things (also doing other pixelated stuf now ), i wanted to say that i really like the way you are setting up the shadows/lights in such a small area and of course that hue shifting stuff for the shadows. Respect!

I'm really having trouble to copy these light/shadow skills to bring it in my own Kit Fox, for example.

Here, thats the stuff that makes you more productive while pixeling:
