PT is MW:O's subscription, like WoW's subscription and TERA's Elite Status, and all of the other MMO Special Account stuff. Do you guys lament the time you paid for in other MMOs that you spend sleeping, eating, working, shopping, and otherwise living Real Life™ (a.k.a. not playing the game)? If you do, stop. Even after you retire, there won't be enough time in the day to do everything you want to get done, so you might as well get used to it now.

Any time you play this game without using the PT you have accrued is a waste of that PT. Hit the damn button already.

It's part of why I've never played a pay-for-subscription game. I knew a lot of people that played WoW, but I never jumped on board because I didn't want to to subscribe.

It's not even an hour-by-hour or day-by-day thing. There are times where I don't get to the computer to play anything for a month or two, and I find it unacceptable to pay for a month's subscription if I'm not playing at all. And as with MWOs premium time, I don't want to start a 3 month premium time clock if I might not get to play at all next month.

My thoughts exactly.
Fortunately for me, I don't have nearly that much PT banked. So when I start my clock, I'll only be wasting a week or so.
Then it's onto day-by-day for me.

That's why there's 1, 3 and 7 day premiums as well.

That's cool, and if I were going to buy more Premium time that's what I'd do. But I have 183 days sitting there, I don't want to set that ball in motion just yet. Especially since things like CW aren't implemented yet, I feel like that I want to save my PT until the game is further developed.

Unless something has changed if you BUY premium time it will not activate your BANKED premium time.

I know a lot of people sitting on overlord premium that are saving it for CW, but are buying premium time when they need it right now.

This is correct, and if you insist on saving your banked time, then this is the way to go.

On the other hand, if you get more time banked for some reason, it gets tacked on to your current bank which you can only activate in 1 lump sum, so using your bank sooner will help you not run into the issue later.

I pondered saving my time, and then thought "Why punish myself with extra grind now, when I know I'm playing and will be playing for a while (When my Phoenix package arrived) and can benefit from having the extra CB and XP now?" Heck, it's entirely possible I might move on to a different game 6 months from now, and if I still have my PT banked, what's the point?

So, now I have 1 day banked again due to the bonus from the patch. That I'll ride out till I find a good day to use it. But I'm enjoying the 90 days I activated right now.

Another PT question. My understanding is that 1 day of PT=24 hours. But if that is the case then why does my day take a tick off every time I play a match?

Just confirmed it I had .94 played one match came out with .93

You CAN buy PT in one-day chunks. Or three-day, or seven-day, etc.

You just can't do that with the banked time you got from packages.

Think about it. You will never even approach 50% return on PT unless you sit at the computer for 12 hours per day, so there's no point in trying to wait for some mythical perfect time to play. Banked PT does you exactly ZERO good. Even if you only play for a couple of hours twice a week, you will gain 50% more C-Bills/XP by activating PT than you would by keeping it banked.

As for all of the "wasted" time you cannot play, remember that you got the packaged PT at a discounted rate (or free, depending on how you calculate the package price).

Stop making so much damn sense or else I will have to go home and activate my banked time!!!

This is the main reason I have been waiting. If CW turns out to be useful and fun, then I will play, ie I will be motivated to sit down and play, even if it's just one match before I have to head off to work etc. Whereas now, not even the double XP on the mechs I want to master really motivates me. If no one is on TS, then probably see who's on Rift or read.
