Some days I can go without even seeing a map like caustic, and I think it took me 2 days to see the "new" alpine conquest

In the context of this conversation, they are completely different maps and should have the same chance of being drawn this long after the introduction of a map.

He was just trying to be clever... and failing.

seriously. I didn't even troll you. I just explained how it could possibly happen. I didn't even call into question your numbers. you asked, I answered. You can't even look past your own ignorance and argumentative nature to see when someone gives you a direct honest answer

Well I guess that's where we disagree. I think any map that is day/night needs to come up half as often as any map with only a single variation. Cutting an apple in half doesn't give you 2 apples.

Wasn't responding to you because I have no idea what RNG is supposed to mean. If you care to share then I will promise to respond if it would make you feel better.

I wonder if Niko knew what he was getting into when he took the name. There is a long history of Polls having a choice of , "Niko in a Dress" on the CBT forum. It is a tradition that has been around for years.

So if you suspect it, start adding that to the polls in the future. :P

Sorry Niko, Traditions are meant to be carried on. Even if you are not THAT Niko. :P

With RNG, even the statistical outliers will happen sometimes.

Played for several hours last night and nearly every drop was Crimson, though I didn't count exact numbers.

Random Number Generator

True, Impossible is not statistically probable!

So it's not possible your Unit drew the short straw and was assigned to Mordor by your employer? ;)

It's better to try for Mordor, than to get Beorning-syphilis from that goblin-prostitute.

Well after making sure I drop in different mechs it seems to reduce the issue a great deal. No idea why but new guys with only one mech must be going bonkers with it.

Any brains out there have any idea why this would have such impact on drops?

RNG = Random Number Generator

I've posted numerous times on how this works differently from say, dice.

An RNG gives the exact same probability for every number every time. It is statistically possible for the exact same number to come up infinitely. Not probably, but possible. Long-term an RNG will give you fairly balanced results. Short-term you can easily have runs of maps like this where you get the same map 8 times in a row. Your map stats SHOULD show a more even balance of map drops over the long-term though.

As far as switching mechs to throw it off, that may have more to do with ELO, weight class, and MM finding you a game with different people. No player is limited to one mech though. There's always trials.

If you find yourself in a map rut I would vary the time in between clicking launch. That will usually break it up for me because if you're "locked" into a group of players and keep syncing with them, waiting an extra minute before you click launch will help break that "rut" up

I tried that once. Not for me. I like the option of being able to go my own way and have the perfect excuse. I tell them I don't believe I need the states permission to marry so will never go for a license to do so. If they question that I tell them I can't be with someone who cant respect my beliefs. Works like a charm. ;)
