Once you elite a mech there really isn't much you can do with all those XP. With all the new modules, it would be nice if we could add another module slot but have it cost an outrageous amount - like 500,000 XP or even a million. Something to strive for again.

I would still like to see new modules developed. There have been a number of ideas already put forward, of course there not all canon, but I believe that if MWO is to evolve we sometimes need to challenge canon.
My personal favourite is a Salvage module. For this I picture some form of grappling hooks or an electromagnet on heavy duty cables that could be fired at a piece of broken Mech; it would then be used to drag the salvage back to your Base, Dropship, or a specified LZ.
If we were to have access to this sort of technology, it could form the start of the re-introduction of a black market, buying and selling components as seen on page 21 of MWv.4:BKL-CAFS Black Knight Legion Field Manual.
