Going for 1st Hero. Hesitant between Ilya Muromets and Firebrand. I'm used to Jager and love my DD but never piloted a Cataphract (maybe as a trial a few times, don't remember). How are hitbox? I remember it was pretty easy to hit the head of the Cata, are torsos exposed? Which one last longer in brawl? I know for the Jager so it will help saying which last longer.

Guess I will get the Ilya Muromets, I got all others.
For beginners, the Yen Lo Wang is a great 'Mech. You have an AC20 that keeps most enemies away from you and a left side that can be completely sacrificed. Incoming missiles? No problem, just show your left side and your AMS reduces even their numbers. Then in late game when all remaining 'Mechs have no ammo and ripped off arms, you can start the hulk waltz with 2 medium lasers in your center torso. It has 3 modules from the start and you make enough credits to fill them with 3 consumables, dealing even more damage by air and artillery strikes.

yesterday i wanted to buy the firebrand but due to hassle with how paysafecards work in germany (could use a disclaimer, i know PGI has nothing to do with it, but it could save german players some frustration) i could not buy enough MC, so i ended up getting the oxide instead. and now i see this....

I know you'll love the FB, it was my first. I chose it over the Ilya because I'm not a brawler player. It's designed for closer combat, but your best bet is to buy both!

I believe the strategy is to bleed you dry of existing MC and then offer the two larger mechs later so you have to buy more MC to buy the Boar's Head and Misery. I stocked up over Black Friday so I'm just waiting to get one of those two.

I would appreciate it if you give discount on first launch. It is a reward for the early bird supporters. Your way of discount right now is just a dump of useless heroes (even some heroes here are good) and is a way of punishing the early bird supporters?

Firebrand if you plan to master it. 2x AC20, 2x AC10, 2xAC5/2xLL are good loadouts for it.

Illya can run 3x AC5, 3xUAC5, 3xLB10X(kinda works) and 2x Gauss effectively. Get it if you plan to master it.
