Maybe it and the Mad Dog will come in as part of a Clan Reinforcement package~? [/wishfulthinkingonmypart] o.o
As for the Clan Collections, I'm still holding off. Likely going to go A la Carte but can't decide between the Stormcrow or Dire Wolf. Right now, this is where I stand.
Stormcrow
+ One of my favorite Mediums.
+ Configuration B has Ultra AC/20.
+ Probably not as obvious a target as the Daishi.
- Not used to piloting anything that's not a Heavy.
- Ultra AC/20 has only two tons of ammo unless I remove an ER Medium.
- I'm likely to get shot down like a baka knowing my lack of skill.
Dire Wolf
+ Configuration B can be turned into a multiple AC boat via swapping out the left arm pod with that of the Prime or A Configs--both of which have one Ballistic Hardpoint each.
- Dire Wolves are likely to attract the attention of every single hostile on the map, and for good reason.

I'm not saying that I will stop supporting MWO in some shape or form, but the powers that be are really making it difficult by pricing the expansion in this way.

I imagine I'm not alone.

That's not to say you guys haven't been doing a better job since you had your wake up call earlier this year. The latest additions to the games have been great, and the stuff like the free mech bay for 5 wins is a wonderful idea. I applaud that.
Keep up the solid work and you'll eventually win back the hardcore mechwarrior crowd.

You don't have to pay a penny to get the clan mechs. You only have to pay if you want them first and want some of the extra goodies. You are not buying an expansion.

Well, if you buy any gold mech you will also receive the Masakari Collection and all the extras.

That is why options are so nice.. You could get some other pack instead. Or simply wait and splurge on some later addition to the clan line-up of mechs.
The golden mechs are more a vanity item... like people who pay premium for ferrari branded key-chains or bugatti branded golf-balls. They are not in any way a "has to buy" thing... Unless you really really like to have a mech with a golden camo.

I still think it's way overpriced. Now the "A La Carte" option helped a bit, but even that is a bit too pricey. Overall the Phoenix Package was just the better deal
Recently PGI got a bit better though. They communicated a few bits and pieces out to us (wish they would be like Gazillion who are very active on the forums) and did approach us a bit.
Now let's see if they are going to be able to keep their promises this time. I will give them the benefit of the doubt. I'm a patient person and I know how things run sometimes. You have the best intentions, but things just go wrong.
Even the most loyal fans (I wouldn't count myself as one) will get fed up one day though.

Except unlike Titanfall. They will be releasing these mechs for free (In game money that is). I do agree the pricing is quite high. But you don't have to buy these to get them. You will have to wait if you don't. But they've said they would be releasing 2 of these mechs a month instead of one by one. So at least you won't be waiting as long to get them.

Indeed. I was just explaining that to someone that was confused, that's all. I do share the opinion that Gold mechs are nonsense in terms of personal finances, but in the same time are a great way for the game to keep running without those who spend just a little per month (like me) having to pay more.

What worries me more about those gold packages are the "exclusive modules", for we don't know what will they do and if they would have significant impact on gameplay. I expect a module that when installed grants a C-Bill or XP bonus. That wouldn't affect the game directly, and at the same time would be something desired by everyone. But if that was the case, why delaying the information when that can be decisive for someone's opinion to change?

There was advertised 14 days premium time (over and above the 90 days with the package), some kind of hologram kerensky thing, and a coffee cup. If this all comes on June 17th, I'm cool with it, but I could use the damn in-game coffee if it's available now!
Oh, and as regards value, I have zero complaints. 24 mechs for $240 including the perks and the mech bays is great. $10 per Omni is better than the founder's package.
Now if the game were not so heavily oriented towards LRMs, lol, a Daishi could do a lot of damage.

Vast majority of people I have read posting (myself included) feel that would be a reasonable price. Especially since there is no TRUE omnimech and Clan tech in general is being balanced down.
