the evolution of pgi's cashgrabs really amuses me. especially how they now ask people to throw down hundreds of dollars for packages of mostly unknown crap. i bought the overlord cashgrab, but im not touching the clan grabs as im still waiting for my loyalty points and info on exactly wtf the loyalty points are going to be and how they are used. now if we were getting actual omnimechs, i might consider ignoring my better judgement and getting a timberwolf, but thats not gonna happen with pgi giving us more frankenmechs masked as omnimechs.

I never would have considered to buy a Clan Package - simple fact i turned from a once proud member of Clan Jadefalcon (i was young and need the money) to true believer - and with this change i also earned the hate at everything that is called Clan.

BTW: is there a redeem code for star bucks (olle plaerre) included with the delivery of the digital coffee cup?

Anyhow - the decision were not those bad clan mechs with their maybe nerfed weapons - it was the coffee cup - it will get a special place in my Dire Wolf when i place a tripple gauss into your guts.

PGI cant patch the Match Maker in two weeks, but can offer packages with items that even PGI doesnt know what they do.

They have to offer it to find out what's in it!

...or wait, was that ObamaCare? ;)

Well, the Problem is you try to presell a Product where the customer does not even knows what he gets for.

lets look in the details, 240$ for the Warhawk Pack.

it comes with 8 prime variants as described
16 standard mechs of unknown specs.
90days premium
4 unique Moduls
8 badges
4 hanging items
8custom titles
1 signed concept art
8warhorn

sound slike you get a lot.

but look at the details

it comes with 8 prime variants as described
fine

16 standard mechs of unknown specs.
totally unknown what they are

90days premium
fine

4 unique Moduls
totally unknown what they are

8 badges
maybe fine, is good for?

4 hanging items
totally unknown what they are

8custom titles
fine, but who needs that much?

1 signed concept art
fine

8warhorn
totally unknown what it is

So from basically 64 things you get, there are actually only 10 being known what they are.
meaning that 54 items are either useless or possibly not wanted at all or even more worse, useless and unwanted.
Edit: A bit too many unknown things so short ( month) before the release of the product.

And why does the Daishi pack include 5 badges and 5 Warhorns, while the Thor package only 1 badge and 0 War horns. The "additional reward" shouldhave a lot softer progression than being that sudden.

Uller vs Blackhawk packages do not even have different Boni rewards, both come with 1 badge and one custom title.

A la carte. A la carte is only useful for getting higher Tier mechs solo.

Uller pack is 30$, Uller A la carte is 55$ ?? So no oen would pick a solo Uller via carte.
Nova is similar, its only 5$ if you solo buy a Nova to get the Uller too.

So buying a la carte should at least have an altered pricing staring with 45 instead of 55$. Or let every choice be 40$ instead of lowering the prices for each mech.

Or it should also contain specials.

like lets say, if you buy 3 a la cart, you also get the third tier boni of a single badge, title and 30 days premium. But for getting at least preium, you would have to take 4 a la carte.

Nothing in the pricing seems to make sense. Because in the end, the Variants will be available for regular C-bills, so all the money people spend is just for prime variants and the mechbays the other variants may come with. But a mechbay is so cheap it rarely makes up the price.

And now, listen to my process of thinking when I think about buying something.

I love the Nova, I may buy one. So I have two choices:
Taking one a la carte for 55$
Taking the collection, getting the Kit fox too.

But then what do I really get?
I get 6 mechs. 3 that I may not even want to use (The kit fox) if I would take the collection.
A la carte I would get 3 mechs. But two of them are some I would get ingame too later.
So all I really get for my money is some time saving for not having to farm the C-bills for these 2 variants and a single mech for 55$. A 55$ Mech thats colorpattern I can't even change.
Seriously? aside from a few really addicted guys and crazy fan, who as a rational thinking being is going to do that?

And now on top of that, lets have a look at the gold Skinned ones.
Well they are 500$ and come with a Warhawk pack.
Nice gold looks at least really cool, but thats basically 260$ for a single mechskin. Well its limited, but also unlike a Reallife good, its limitation will not be something that is really worth something.
So as a Nova fan I would maximum spend an amount of 100$ for such a Mech.
But no on top of that overpricing I would have to put on 240$ of which 210$ are spent on mechs that I do totally not want at all.

This is not how you sell some virtual limited goods effectively. It may work on the Timberwolf, since it is THAT MOST Iconic Mech ever. but I doubt you gonna sell much of the others.

I would rather much more like to see 150$ or maybe 170$ gold mech bundles including:

the gold mech
the prime and 2 variants of that gold mech

maybe also:
1 title
1 bagde
1 warhorn
1 artwork
1 unique Module.

That would make a reasonable still kinda expensive pack for just a golden skinned variant of a Mech.
But I guess main reason for people not to buy the gold skins is the massively overprized clan bundle it comes with. Also I heard that bundle was just a goodie after a failed aprils fool to price the gold mechs at this level? Because some people were crazy enough buying the goldies for even 500$ True or not, but seems that this backfires now by keeping your gold sales stuck

Just my thoughts as a costumer with a filled wallet, but also a brain not to throw money away brainless.

But the clan Mechs are more stylish when using that ****

Been saying this myself for a while now! Thumbs up to you sir! ;)

Prices on these packages are bad enough, but now you want to punish people that didn't pre-order by making them wait an entire month and a half for the first mech available by cbills? Why is the cbill schedule not moved up 2 weeks so when the Blackhawk/Nova are around for MC the Uller/Kit Fox are around for cbills? Makes no sense.

Makes perfect sense to me. Putting the delay in encourages people both to buy in early (grabdeal!) and both serves as an appetizer for the MC buyers earlier and gives them time to fix the inevitable before C-bill purchases put them into more widespread use.

There's no punishing involved, and it makes plenty of sense.

They want to reward pre-ordering (because that just makes financial sense) so if you do so, they are available early. After that, you can get them earlier via MC, or wait longest to get them free. This seems entirely reasonable to me, they are a business that needs to make money after all. This gets them dollars, and still makes the mechs available to free players, so everyone wins.

We'll probably get details on those about 2-3 weeks after June 17th, after the pack has been released.

Serious note: Niko said a few weeks ago that the modules were still in a design phase, meaning that not even PGI knows what the modules will do...even though the pack gets released in 30 days.

Well based on the ability of "Mechs" to have already different twist and turn rates, climb rates, cool down rates, weapon ranges and and and and ....
Designing those modules is 70% of the work, 25% may testing (it should not be useless but neither to powerfull),2% descriptive text, 2% for the coffee before starting to code and 1% to code that module

People tend to oversee the complexion and basics MWO already have.
Yeah UI 2.0 is bad - but where you see only menus and click streams - i may see a basis for "complex" handling of complex things.

I was disappointed about MWO many times, but i have faith

I wonder when the next package will be announced. I also wonder how far the next mech package will put PGI behind schedule again. Either PGI is incompetent and has no idea or it is corrupt and just lying about it to sell packages.

What has PGI to do with Marketing? It should IPGs task to promote MWO - not PGIs. And if somebody at IPG is writing a book how to make things wrong and after that even worse - its not the fault of PGI.

Maybe I'm wrong and somebody at PGI headquarter does this. In this case - I will buy an exemplar of this book when its ready. :D

Most of them simple get the taks - new hero - made some
new cockpit items - we have football World Championchip - we need flags

So, now that people have gotten their first taste of Clan weapon performance with the accidental "We made IS missile launchers work like Clan-coded ones":

Are you feeling any changes of opinion on your purchase/decision towards purchasing Clan equipment?

Well no - the Clan Mechs i looking at don't have Missiles - but to say it better - they have to accidental slip the Code for the Cannons into the game - > really want a test run on the Devastators

.IGP is also working on MechWarrior Tactics, a one-on-one fighting browser-based game that emphasizes the art of tactical combat between giant mechs. It’s a one-versus-one collectible strategy game, based on the BattleTech universe. Another title in the works is Sins of a Dark Age, a real-time-strategy game (where players move lots of units simultaneously). Ironclad Games, maker of Sins of a Solar Empire, is making the game and taking it online as a free-to-play game.

Please. What was said was that "there was some work implemented to support the upcoming Clan LRM's."

As you surely know, clan LRMs in MWO are supposed to deal reduced damage under 180m, as they can be fired in point blank ranges. What we saw was likely this effect going haywire on all IS missile systems, using improper values as this was never supposed to have anything to do with them.

If some people lost faith in PGI's ability to deliver properly balanced Clans and want refunds, I'm fine with that, I can see why. But seriously claiming that this was a preview of what clan missiles are going to work like is just BS, and you should know it.
