Average subscription fee for MMO's is 12,5 dollar/euro per month. That's 150 per year. 150 dollar is the same as the average package, Puma. If most people only make one major purchase per year anyway then these prices aren't that bad. Some people will spend more, some less.
Gold mechs: Some people just got a lot of a excess money that they don't know how to use anyway, they don't deserve the money anyway if they buy these.
So, I'm ok with the pricing but I do understand and see the real problem: Lack of features.
Apparently it's relatively easy to design new mechs, they seem to be spitting out every now and then.
The thing about features that stuck to me the most was the release of game, this was my reaction: SO EXCITED, so many important core features to expect.
Reality: No real changes, more or less same game as 6 months earlier. No promises held.
All the shenanigans is more a case of bad public relations, PR: They would have been much better of just shutting their mouths, only saying; "don't expect anything". The release of the game was a very big joke. The game is still very much in beta compared to all the features that could be implimented in a Battletech game.
I still enjoy the game; They just won't get any of my money as long as they can't impliment any true new features, proving that they actually want to develop the game as promised and hinted.
Prices For Clan Collection Is Actually Not Bad At All

The pricing itself on a per mech basis is fine and inline with previous content...However...
It is the way they group everything together and make you purchase a LOT of mechs. If you could have more REASONABLE groupings to help make it more affordable to get multiple mechs, it would cause less of an uproar in the community.
Like you said though, the lack of content, poor PR work, and poor attitude towards community has really hurt them and caused a bad rift between the community of loyal fans themselves.
It is a shame too, this game really could have been somthing good. PGI is just WAY over it's head in both programming ability, workload, and resources. It is showing, and the fans are starting to finally get fed up.
Hopefully things improve. PGI really needs to counter this with some good news. If they have any type of CW running in develpoment, they need to share footage, just something to show people that they are still trying. I think that good will would go a long way. It might even save face with the fans...for now.

The priceing is stupid. There were 12 mechs in PP and it was 80$. There are 24 mechs in the top tier of the clan pack and it is 240$. Going off of content for a moment the top tier clan pack should be roughly double of the overlord pp pack setting it at 160$. Yet they threw an extra 80$ in out of nowhere. For roughly the same amount of hanging cosmetics and concept art signed by likely some nobody artist that you wouldnt even be able to flip to offset the cost to some degree.

Well, i am not angry about the price, they can put any tag on it...
But to wait 6 months for something i do have to pay for right now is the real dealbreaker right now for me.
Its like giving them a loan without interest for half a year. It was different with founders, because there was no game and you knew what was comming, but paying 6 months in advance on a done game (no more beta!).
I might buy a package in about 4-5 months.

I'm not angry at the prices, and I understand the break down of it. It will be interesting to see which is the most popular. I was a founder, and also bought both Phoenix packs. But I'm not going to be able to afford much more then the 120 or 150 Package, and that might have to be with the initial buy of a smaller one then upgrade later. We will see.

I would still be more inclined to buy a clan Package IF I could request the Omni I was getting for the lower levels.
My Goliath Scorpion could use a Nova. That is it. I wouldn't need any other Mech.
