For me, that would be an easy choice.

3F.

I went 2xERPPC, 2XLL, 2xML, 2xSRM 6, AMS, Endo, STD 280 16 DHS's and max std armor. But I prefer mixed builds and don't "boat" any particular weapon most of the time. It runs pretty hot. I chainfire the PPC's and LL's. I know it's not a "min-max" or meta build, but I'm not interested in those. I put this one together before the heat nerf hammer came down on ERPPC's. I think I would change those to std PPC's now.

I know the 4xLL build is popular also.

3F is hands down the best the rest you just level with and sell.

Its all to do with the torso twist.

Well the 3F has the most torso twist for getting on targets faster. I guess it depends on how you play it.

Not trying to pick your 5S apart ( I kept mine too), but there's NO way I'd run an XL engine on a Stalker. Since you're running 4xML's, I assume you like to get in there and mix it up med to close range. The 3F, with the superior torso twist is better in that role, imho. And if you're committed to running that XL engine, at least max out your side torso armor, you'll last a few seconds longer anyway.

For your 3F build, once again, playstyle varies, but that is a close range weapon load out. I guess it depends on how you see your "role" in your Stalker. I would prefer to be able to do damage at longer range. I would prefer standard lasers to pulse, in both the large's and the med's. The standards can still hit close, but the pulse's can't hit far. It would be easy to stay outside your LPL range, taking only minimal damage from your 2 LRM 5's, and turn you inside out with my longer range weapons.

Here's mine, I think it's due for a "refit" to std PPC's:

And yes, it runs really hot.

Also, as I'm sure you're aware by now, the Stalkers have a huge side torso, with no arms to protect them. That's why XL engines are suicide. Everyone will be trying to get into your sides to shoot your side torsos out. You have to try and not engage multiple enemies at once (always a good plan in any mech) and keep your nose pointed AT your target as much as possible. The Stalker's CT is much smaller head on than it's side torsos are from the sides.

And consider going up in engine size. Sure Stalker's are slow, but every little bit helps, but more importantly, the larger engine will increase the speed that you can turn, AND twist your torso from side to side. The faster you can twist, the easier you can engage targets and keep your nose pointed at the enemy. I'm running the STD 280 in my 3F, but ran the STD 300 in the others. It helps.

The 3F has the best torso twist of the Stalkers, 85 degrees (65 for the Misery, 60 for all the others).

If you decide against the 3F, the 5M is a decent choice. Yes, you have 1 less energy point, but it is in the CT. Not a Stalker jock myself, but I cannot tell you how many times I've seen Stalkers get stripped of a side torso. Just seems like still having a gun with both sides stripped can't be a bad thing.

Basically against a stalker a light has a really easy time of it, the limited torso twist combined with low agility means you need the 3F's superior twist to defend yourself other wise your slow spinning in a circle getting picked apart.
