Ok, I post this for a specific reason. This says a lot about why we're where we're at. This was PGI's first attempt. Apparently it suffered a few delays as well.

I have been playing Battletech for 21 years and Mechwarrior for 20 years. I have purchased the Legendary Founders Pack, Overlord Pack and the Saber Pack and have spent to-date: $476 on MC.
I would like to voice my conerncs to the Developers and Publishers.
Having invested over $700 in MWO, I feel like a true stakeholder in MWO's future. I love Mechwarrior games so much, that I wanted to contribute as much as I could to help this game succeed.
I do not believe my money is being utilized properly. I realize I am only a paying customer and that IGP has quite handedly made clear that no matter how much we have donated for Founder's packs, we are only consumers, not investors.
I am Business/Management and Process Consultant and I specialize in implementing processes in businesses so that businesses can increase profit. Currently, MWO is set for a crash within the next year.
Whoever is adivsing your feature/announcement marketing is feeding you {Scrap}.
If you lose your hardcore community, you are left with a free-to-play/pay-to-win game about giant robots shooting each other. How many giant robot simulators have come out in the past 20 years that had sales numbers rivaling Call of Duty, Skyrim or Grand Theft Auto?
Zero.
The reason everyone is upset about the Clan Pack is pricing and as of yet, NO follow through on previous promises of development. MWO does NOT need more Mechs. It needs new methods of gameplay and persistency to keep players interested.
Some suggestions:
1) Lower the price point on the MCs to 60-65% of their current level and more people will spend money on them. Doing it now would also show the community that you are interested in keeping them. Positive PR is always good, especially when Forbes Magazine tells you the same thing.
2) Fire whoever the project manager is. If a developer told me that it took two years to create UI 2.0, I would fire them. Why? Because Mechwarrior 2, Mechwarrior 3 and Mechwarrior 4 and MPBT had fully functioning Mechlabs. It can be done faster. Community Warefare? It's been done in Mechassault 2 and MPBT and the Netbattletech 4 Planetary League. You should have hired Dark Phoenix from NBT-4 to lead your Community Warefare development. It'd probably be done by now.
3) IGP: Tell your PGI developers that if they don't start working harder to produce results by given deadlines, you will find other developers who will. At the same time, raise their motivation to work harder/longer by offering incentives that work (obviously whatever you're doing now doesn't).
IF- They are working 80 hour weeks, and they are over worked, then hire more developers. Remember, the sooner the game is fully functional, the sooner you can PROPERLY advertise it and make more money on it.
4) Re-evaluate your development process. There is a reason why Business Consultants are still around. Business owners are on the inside, looking in and only see what they have been looking at from their point of view. Consultants provide objective, outside perspectives that are valuable to correcting issues and performing root cause analysis.
5) Lastly: Put a poll on the Announcement/Feedback Forum.
Player Poll: What would you rather have first...
UI 2.0 and Community Warefare
OR
New Mechs
I'll guarantee on my business's reputation, that you will see a landslide towards - UI 2.0 and Community Warfare.
I may be the only one who feels this way in the community, but I'm thinking not, especially after the Forbes article. I feel it important for all Founders to voice their opinions to the development team, because we are the reason why you are still in business.

It very well may be true that devoted players of a popular free-to-play game may end up spending $200-$500 or more on a game that really didn’t need them to pay anything. But usually, such a thing happens over time. You might buy a unit here, a skin there, and eventually they add up to you being a pretty significant contributor to what once was a free game. That’s well and good, and why microtransactions are a viable business model. But skipping the loyalty-building process to earn that kind of devotion, and putting massively expensive items on sale in a brand new game that is very much still a work in progress seems like an insult to the fans that have stuck by you.
MechWarrior Online always felt a bit more focused on microtransactions than was healthy, but now they’ve crossed a very, very obvious line that has players rightly upset.

No, it's not even free advertising. It costs -X*500$. Negative cost advertising. No really this is brilliant.

ahah I love the first one : Current employee
I have been working at Piranha Games
Pros – The people you work with are great!
Cons – The bosses view their employees as tools to be used in what ever fashion they please, and they do not value people that have worked with them for several years and have been there through the tough times.
There is also no attempt by upper management to help develop the company culture
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

I have no doubts it's a disgruntled employee or some such. I'm trying to point out that I don't think they're "nefarious" just inept when it comes to business itself

I'm not a long time battle tech fan i just love games that engage the brain a bit, so with a sick feeling i say no more, I've put the last penny into this game i can which is a real shame as it has so much potential.
Yes i know I'm hardly the first to say this but just adding my voice to the crowd that feels insulted by not being loyal (insinuated) because i wont give away £306 for a bunch of pixels. No mention of the 100's i put in this year.
