One thing me and my close-knit group of friends have always thought, ever since the Phoenix mechs and UI 2.0 and such is:

PGI messed up by promising some content within an allotted amount of time, and game companies do that sometime. I do not hate them for it (it IS a free game after all, if you choose for it to be).

But at the same time, the player base (NOT ALL) also has a part to blame for the state of the game.

I am not sure if all I see is the vocal minority (I really hope it is) but I have seen people act somewhat childish in my days in mechwarrior.

While, yes, promised content has not been delivered, and there have been setbacks (still not cool, but...whatever), all of a sudden I see funding for the game pulled from the player base. "I'm not paying a single cent until I see the content I was promised."

While I understand that from a standpoint, I can't help but think "What if the pushbacks were due because of lack of funding, and now that there is even less funding, we won't see such content?"

The only thing I stand up for them over, is the attempt at cash grabs to (probably) increase their funding so they may be better able to deliver the content.

Now I am not saying YOU HAVE TO BUY THESE PACKS. But I am defending their decision to sell them. And even if you look at the costs, C-bills per MC ratio, 24 mechbays (which are 60 bucks alone), 24 new mechs (even if they were 15 bucks a pop, like most lower end IS mechs, that is 360 dollars right there), the prices aren't terrible.

I want to thank PGI for giving me a free game so that I may jump in a giant stomping robot and obliterate other people in combat. Sure, I would LOVE UI 2,0, Clan wars, and yadi yada, but It is still a fun game for me.

Bought a kit fox pack...love da mech. May go up to Daishi for me...we shall see.
