So I am a pretty invested supporter of MWO but it was in lieu of a bigger game. But now I am second guessing my first impressions, Is this all is ever going to be? I was planning on getting clan mechs, but I will not pull the trigger if there is never a bigger game. What happened to warfare? I thought this was going to have a big battle over planets theme and be managed like War in Europe or similar, was I wrong?

It's coming soon™
So we have to wait... again...
I'm in the same boat for the clan mechs. If I see enough progress to make me happy and they are still for sale I will probably get a package, but no progress = no money for PGI.
Also, if they don't meet the target dates outlined in the command chair post any sliver of trust I have left will evaporate.

This is the plan, as put out just last night... http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__3002261 . For my part, I think it's encouraging, and it does explain a LOT of what has taken place, in terms many of us are able to understand and digest. This game IS to have everything you mentioned in your post, but it's going to take a while longer to get there. As far as I'm concerned, everything is explained in that posting. There is more to come, today, I'm pretty sure, including a video shot by Bryan Ekman. We'll have to wait and see on that.
Also, PGI have expressed that they know they need to EARN our trust, again. Right now, I'm ******* as far as whether or not I trust them, and they have some work to do in order to get me spending any money, as well.

they hoped they got the license but didnt want to commit so they led everyone on to this point taking as much money as they could. But now that they have the license and suckers/players they have been able to put up help wanted signs. Not very nice to wait and see rather than going ahead and delivering despite what might happen.
Will this change anything? No. I think they will continue on the same path of 90% art and $$ and 10% content. Until there is no more whales left to harpoon. We arent even close to that yet since Micro$oft saw reason to up the license and that means Pgi can foot the bill.
They only care as far as they can push the boundaries of peoples wallets and they are damn good at it and the art department is top notch. As for everything else - dont really think so because there is always new meat for the grinder.
Plenty o fish I would say?
I prefer the build it and they will come rather than sell it and they will leave mentality but obviously I am very wrong.

Offiicially stated that OCTOBER 2014 is a CONSERVATIVE estimate on when Planetary competition will start in CW for MWO.
Repeat... OCTOBER 2014.. That's 10, count them "TEN" months away..

Hard to get all the community warfare and such together when you are hard at work re-tooling the whole game for XBox1 release by summer. I have no information to back that up; but the alternative is that they have spend the last year working... and all we got out of it was TDM mode today, "Ghost Heat" (apparently this was a high point???) and a new gauss firing mode. Oh, and Mordor. The XBox1 theory at least assumes that the devs know what they are doing and have just been hard at work and making headway on the console revamp coding. 3rd Person (working), new UI (UI 2.0... now XBox Compatible), DX issues sorted to work on XBox systems, 12v12 (max for console gaming).
Mind you, this theory also means that they used us PC fans to finance the development of the real game. For XBox. Which will not really have community warfare at all.
