I'm a player in MWO and so I have a conflict, I'm tired of light mechs killing me when I'm most vulnerable.... When I get 5fps.... I just want to know what should I upgrade to play MWO at full graphics to medium settings and maybe get 30fps~. Processor = AMS A6-4400M APU with Radeon ~2.7GHz. 4gb of ram, and Chip type = AMD Radeon HD 7520G. Sorry I didn't list it, I'm too stupid to figure out how to do that. Also I want to upgrade my laptop, not replace it.

Use the minimum specs as a guide (listed below). But try to exceed them obviously. I would not use anything less than a quad core chip, 8gb of quality ram and well video card is actually the most forgiving as I am not so up to date in that category yet run at 35-40 fps (once they include DX11 this may be considered a low fps but for now its quite good).

Quote

MechWarrior Online Minimum System Spec:

CPU:

Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz

Athlon II X2 245e

GPU:

GeForce 8800GT

Radeon HD 5600/5700

RAM: 4 GB

OS: Windows Vista 32-bit

DirectX: DX9

HDD Space: 4 GB

MechWarrior Online Recommended System Spec:

CPU: Core i3-2500 AMD Athlon II X4 650

GPU: GeForce GTX 285 Radeon HD 5830

RAM: 8 GB OS: Windows 7 SP-1 64-Bit

DirectX: DX9

HDD Space: 4 GB

The very first thing to do is lower your resolution. a lot of times people leave the game res at their monitor's native res, but you probably don't have the power to do that. Minimum resolution. Forget about running on medium, everything lowest setting and everything off you can turn off (post processing, motion blur, damage glow, etc)

AMD Radeon HD 7520G is a mobile GPU. Mobile GPUs are much less effective for games even if it's an expensive one. Upgrading laptops is a big expense and much more difficult than upgrading a desktop. You may not have any options.

Rather than spend money on upgrading your laptop consider purchasing or better yet building (or have a friend build) you a tower rig. It far exceeds any laptop for gaming and the few laptops that are good for gaming are going to be super expensive, far more so than a tower.

List, just hit Enter after each item. Putting them on separate lines is enough.

Well... I'll see the prices for a better chip, if cant meet them, then I guess I have to get a new laptop. Thanks for the advice.

I pressed enter but it doesn't work, but that isn't the problem.

Are you using a 32 bit system or a 64 bit system?

I had similar issues during closed beta when I was using a 32 bit system; when I switched to a 64 bit system the issues went away.

Blackviper.com is something you can use in the meantime. Basically a list of services/processes you can turn off to free up RAM and CPU cycles.

Also make sure you aren't preloading Office, various Adobe products as that eats up a lot of resources. Protip: if they are installed and you haven't disable them, they are running. Basically they start everything except the actual UI and run in the background whether you "start' them or not.

laptop

Unless you are very very lucky, you will not be able to actually replace any performance-enhancing hardware in that laptop.

Laptop CPUs are usually permanent.
Laptop GPUs are usually permanent.

The traditional methods of enhancing performance (upgrading CPU/GPU and overclocking) don't work on laptops.

Besides lowering your resolution and detail levels, and making sure you don't have any resource-hungry programs running in the background, there isn't much you can do.
