I just realized it's a bit dumb. My apologies on that.

But it has the main point. I cannot use the gauss rifle.

P.S, thanks for teaching a new word for me (I had to search asinine from dictionary).

Well, but the new gauss is horrible at long range, because of the pop-in pop-out meta. There simply is no time to charge your weapon - you won't get a firing solution.

But it is really awesome as a brawling weapon. From 0-400m, the new Gauss is practically hitscan now. Very deadly and extremely easy to use.

I snipe max range just fine. Few mechs reach their apex and drop before I get the shot off. Instead of tracking them, I usually just aim righ t above the crest they are using fo rcover, and they fall right into it.

Guys, has the firing mechanism itself changed for you? Because it's definitely not just the soun. My gauss doesn't seem to hold charge anymore, but it charges faster....

I think it just might be the way the sound spools up to give the impression it's faster. Were the old sound stops when it's ready to fire.

well you have the cross indicator...but when im fighting i trust more in the sound than the indicator cos my eyes are in the enemie and not in that tini light..so for me is disgusting the new sound of the gausses also...alll the sounds on the new map are anoying...like having your ears plugged with wax!!!!http://img708.images...8/1305/lij2.png

Not sure what the Gauss used to be like because I just started using it in dual guass setup for fun on a Jager. That was yesterday. I almost gave up on it, but today it just seemed to click and I somehow managed a 9 kill game. I was shocked! I used the visual indicator next to the reticule to let me know it was ready to fire again and the audible sound to know when it was charged. I also seemed to develop a little muscle memory recarding how long to hold the trigger down. Once i got used to the timing i found i could charge it while running around a corner to hit an enemy I knew to be there. I found it effective at all ranges.

How many weapon groups do you use? If you put your Gauss on all unused weapon groups, the little indicators around your cross hairs will tell you when the weapon is charged. I know people who run dual gauss and put them on 1-6 and when they are all lit up, you know they are ready instead of looking for 1 indicator to know.

This is such an awesome idea...

i use TAG as laser sights for the gausses, it makes it esier to track while you charge. Its a Phract so its nice to know when your weapons clear the terrain or friendlies.

Used to do 5 kills on maps with AC20s and Gauss combo on my Cat. Now with this new firing mechanic... it is either pure gauss or nothing configuration. Sad really, I missed the old Gauss rifle before it is now a sniping weapon. Some like it and some hate it. Fact is, I don't see gauss rifles being used in a lot of the battles I had fought. For me, an Ac20 + AC10 is the best replacement, today I score 4 kills in a battle before it was lost, with me the only guy in the team scoring kills.

I know the gauss works well on my highlander due to the lack of heat and the added range. I have it built with a gauss 2 medium lasers, 2 srm 6s, and an srm4. The ac20 was not as good because of the lack of range and the heat. Since switching to the gauss I have a lot more Success. Even against lights. As you can probably tell I prefer to brawl with my highlander. My aim is not great and that extra second gives me a chance to correct it and slows me down overall to let heat dissipate.

For gods sake, change that fn Gauss Sound back to where it was. It's terrible, just terrible. Sound like a broken car that won't start the engine. Seriously, just CHANGE IT BACK!

Don't know who was that {Dezgra} who thought it has to be changed. It was pretty fine as it was.

Cool, thanks for the info fellas, I stopped using it after they nerfed the sound on it, I'll check out the indication on the reticule. Dual Gauss is the best for sure. Can you put three on a illya?

When the box turns green that's in front of my face I let the trigger go.

That little rectangle has saved many a fool, who decided they were going to barge, in front of me to take the kill shot, from getting rear armour stripped.
