5 years? This game better ne in high within 5 months. Next gen consoles, the aaa game titles getting released and the holidays? As it stands right now the finished product is not on the same level for content as the gaming options that are hitting the market over the next few months

As more and more professional reviews come in all we are seeing is just how large this island really is.
Hopefully PGI will realize that *they* are the ones who are actually out of touch and do something about it instead of insisting to plow ahead blindly.

The critical points could easily be avoided when they just waited to release the game when CW was implemented.
"The grind of match after match eventually erodes your enthusiasm as you start to wonder what it’s all for"
"If the game had made better use of its assets and given us a reason to care about more than the fleeting pleasures of customization and combat, it might be worth enduring the currency grind"
"it lacks in overall cohesiveness and reasons for playing long term. It clearly has the potential to be much more than what it currently is"

But all those things are coming. So I don't see a problem.

which basically equates to casual gamers (you know, the new target demographic?) aren't generally going to enjoy it past the initial novelty of stomping around in giant robots and invest gobs of money and have good retention numbers because the game gets stale quickly

Well the problem is you can't review a game on "things to come" and many have no faith in any kind of timeline pgi gives at this time due to having already gone through this "90 days, Q1, Q2, silence for 8 months, then 6 months" even if they do manage to actually stick to a deadline 6 months doesn't help the fact that the game is launched and presented to the public as a finished product now, not in 6 months unfortunately

I still honestly do think the game can be awesome, but they have a long way to go. I would love to one day say, "I can't believe I lost hope in MWO, it's awesome now!".

It'll be interesting to see if the professional reviewers will redo their reviews when CW is fully implemented. Hopefully they will.

I know I will, even though it's a user review if and when stuff like cw gets here then I'll revisit my reviews but I don't know that pro reviewers will. Even if they do and even if pgi actually makes a deadline for once that's still six months of those reviews sitting there for potential customers to read

This game should have never been "properly" launched until at least the first step of CW and UI 2.0. Imho.

only problem is we don't get the amount of players we want with the review score. most gamers don't touch a review of 7. This game doesn't grow we don't get cool stuff

MW4 received 84/100 average

I don't really enjoy the meta-critic site for any game, but the older Mech games were definitely better received for their time.
Since MWO is also an 'mmo' with constant development, pgi at least does have a chance to build something , redo stuff, and fix things. Will have to see if that pans out...

Why are you asking for the inevitable? It is not impossible at all. If anything, it is very improbable that things will work as planned.
