According to Battle tech Lore, Clan tech was always more expensive to the Inner Sphere...
Maybe PGI is just trying to stick to the book.
While they rob us blind.
I'm fine with lore prices. It's just that lore also has Clan tech being obviously and blatantly superior to IS tech. With the nerf incoming to Clan tech, I question the value. An Atlas at rough 10 million cbills is going to take around 20-25 hours (100 matches) to grind for without boosters. A Stormcrow is almost 15 million cbills and it going to take 30-37.5 hours to grind (150 matches). That's a long grind for a 55 ton mech. Now you have to do it 3 times (90-112.5 hours) to get elited out vs. 60-75 hours for the most expensive IS mech. If Clantech ends up being equal but different, is it really worth the time and effort? The cash value, as it follows, is going to be 2-3 times the cost. A 55 ton Golden Boy has a purchase price of roughly 17 dollars (depending on MC package). Is it really worth paying $40-50 for a Stormcrow that is equal but different?
Bring up the PPC is interesting because the PPC now seems to fit lore. Sarna has the PPC at 10 heat and the ERPPC at 15. Price ratio is also the same, though the actual price does not match (200k for PPC and 300k for ER). So PGI is willing to fiddle with prices.
I'm not necessarily saying they need all things to be priced equally. I do feel they should avoid lore's inflated prices if they are going to remove the OP-ness of Clan tech.
