Just an idea but I think in the future a fighting scenario should be 2 groups of mechs fighting each other on the hull of a capitol warship. Meanwhile the capitol warship is broadside slugfesting with a enemy ship. In the distance is the Union C dropship pulling away that just dropped off the enemy team heavily damaged and trying to evade the defending capitol ships torpedoes and ppc fire. This map or scenario would be stellar. Not sure if it can be done but boy that would be spectacular.

Greeting,

Great idea but probably will not happen.

Not to break your bubble, but PGI has stated that currently changing the gravity has serious effects on all the game play. Especially the Jumpjet function, like launching a spider into orbit. The ballistics of all projectile weapons is effected as well as any energy beam, no air resistance or blooming effect for it so all beams would be vastly extended. (many problems here for HSR and the damage model.)

And as a note, a Union Dropship would never get close enough to a working warship to be able to "drop off" a company of Mech's. Might be able to "fool or fake" a legitimate Id in order to land/dock with a space type platform though. (Combat or strictly battleships don't have docking collars that would allow a Union to dock. And few even have Fighter bays for close protection support.) The majority of Warship battles (from canon and lore) happened at well beyond visual distance, mostly all Capital sized weapons. (100plus damage per hit) And even the point defence weapons would be enough to completely destroy any Mech hit.

Good idea and yes it would be epic, but not doable with the current game restrictions.

There has been Mech on mech capitol ship warfare written in the books. I agree a dropship would not want to venture too cloose but maybe close enough to open a hatch and launch mechs at the ship for assault. Drop ships also have powerful weapons and are attached to jump and capitol startships.

Next map is going to be a close quarters tight packed hot humid Jungle single file trails. This will not be a LRM sniper friendly place.

If they get the destroyable terrain working flamers will be useful as a tool for cutting other paths through the Jungle.

You also be able to create false sensor echo's buy lighting certain sections of the jungle on fire, and yes you can go mad and burn the whole jungle down. Mechs without flamers might have to breakdown trees walking through. Or bust though vines that cross and block the path.

In the middle of the map will be a mech eating plant so don't get eaten.

Bryan said it in one of the no guts no galaxy pod casts that they were working on it.

Some of the other ideas was a map called Battle Line with 2 bases and 3 separate objectives in a shallow river. This would be the first 30 sec respawn bases map. All 3 objectives would be spread out along the shallow river. To win you would have to control all 5 objectives make the enemy bases the hardest to capture. There would be infantry and tanks fighting each other along the river, and you would hear over the coms what objective was being captured, and if the infantry was surrendering because of a lance of unopposed Battlemechs. Respawns would walk in through 3 random access points to prevent respawn kills and respawn camping. 15 to 30 min game timer with the team who controls the most objectives winning since there is 5 it be hard to have a tie. This would be the first mode were the amount of kills are meaningless. Since there is no way to repair your mech you will die at some point in the match. This is to simulate mass combat with burnt out destroyed mechs littering the battlefield.
