No one knows, If they stick to even a decent portion of lore and you are a mech hunter I would have to say get Marik for sure. Weapons Liao Kurita and Steiner.

Without good info we just are at a loss to make educated picks really. They may have some balance they want to do overall and just deal with the mechs they have an are making in the pipe. Weapons they may have like CeresMetal have a lower heat PPC and say Magna have a longer range.

If you were to buy say a Treb 7M and you were a Marik it could cost less C-bills instead of buying through Davion. Just some examples.

If you can get your hands on it read up Objective Raids source book. number is 1665.

Problem: PGI doesn't intend to stick with the lore.

Bryan Eckman in the launch vid said that Davions will get Victors, Kurita won't. 3039 war saw Quentin (Independence Weaponry) fall to the Combine. The FedCom was reduced to buying all of Hildco's output from St Ives.

I can see a few "unreleased models" being faction only.

Davion: BJ-2
Liaio: CTF-3L
Combine: Grand Dragon
Steiner: COM-5S

So, there is some wiggle room for exclusives. I doubt they will use lore, simply because the removal of the Unseens from BT created new lines for the 2750 variants which replaced them, and weren't in Objective Raids.

Don't make your picks until after Community Warfare launches for realsies?

You choose more than one faction medallion because working as a lone wolf or merc you can switch factions, thereby unlocking faction specific bonuses. Having four medallions is beneficial because you get that boost when playing in four of the factions. House warrriors will not use this, but others who wish to try all the factions, and get all the unlocks will find this to be a tremendous help.

Man, Objective Raids was written before the unseens became unseen. It's a pretty old book (with a lot of errors).

Also, while the DC captured Quentin, they never used the "Davionist" Victor in large numbers (TRO3050U).

I'll take the medaillons for the factions I likely want to play, means FedCom (Davion & Steiner, maybe one FWL as "reserve").

I'd imagine they're allowing for up to 4, so that someone could ultimately select 4 of the same item, and equip one in each of the 4 units they wish to use for their 'Dropship Mutator' (4 selected units).
Because of this, I'd imagine they'd have to offer other Medallions at MC/C-bills...

Okay I'm a noob who has been playing Mechwarrior video games for ages. I have never played the board game and I don't have that much info on the faction houses either. I'm wondering if choosing a faction now will have an effect on what I get to buy and use right now (weapons and mechs), or if I'll get any other boosts or bonuses.

Secondly, are we going to get some MP missions later on, like the SP missions of old Mechwarrior games?

Thirdly, I'm liking this concept of this Metagame but I have no clue how this works. How would they count scores when we can't choose which side we fight for as a mercenary? I've noticed that most people play as LNW.

Sadly, none of the faction related warfare has been released yet. So feel free to pick any faction you wish as it is purely cosmetic at this point, and has no effect on what mechs and equipment you can buy.

Many will agree with that assessment, and while they have missed their release dates several times some still hold some hope that they will get their act together. ;)

If they are to be believed this time around expect parts of Community warfare to show up around May, and final implementation around October.

I just started playing after keeping tabs on the game ever since it was announced so I'll give them a few months to meet the targets they've listed in that roadmap in the State of the Inner Sphere post. I have my doubts too though :P

This is my assumption as well. But since we don't know for sure, I still haven't chosen my 4 medallions and I don't intend to do so until after we know how Loyalty functions in CW. I might want 3 different medallions... or I might want 4 of the same. I can't know the answer to that yet, so I can't choose.

I picked Davion, Steiner, FRR, Marik. Afterthought, I wish I would have picked Kurita instead of Marik just because Victor gets him some Omi.
