Idea For Clan Zellbrigen

Can Clan Honour & Zellbringen be achieved?
I want to post an idea I had the last days ...

First: What is Zellbrigen?

Not all Clans follow Zellbrigen at the same level, there are different manifestations and interpretations from each Clan. These also change in the course of the invasion.

  • What if Clan players would always be outnumbered (BV based maybe)?
  • What if the Clan pilots have a different starting screen just before the battle?
  • What if that start screen would handle zellbringen/honour as accurately as possible?

The IS pilots could see the call-signs of the enemy (e.g. Snoopy), but not the Mech.
The Clan pilots could see the Mech type (e.g. Awesome, no variant info) or the Mech class (e.g. Assault), but not the call-sign.

The Clan pilots do not have a Ready button available yet. They have to select “their” prey, the enemy they select for an honour duel. Every other Clan players sees who selected which enemy.
Only after they have selected one enemy Mech to duel, the Ready button gets active and the player can click it. After they clicked Ready they see the name of their “prey” for easy in-game identification. Every further Mech is “free-for-all”. Each Clan player can decide if he wants an equal challenge (same tonnage class) or something else.

Every clan player now knows what is his pey and what is the prey of his fellow Clan warriors. Every other enemy Mechs are free for all.

EXP and C-bill rewards could be based on:
  • your prey (150% EXP and C-bills)
  • free-for-all (50% EXP and C-bills)
  • prey of other clan challenger (handled like a team kill or no EXP / C-bills)

IS Mechs become “free for all” after the Clan challenger gets killed or disconnects to prevent the Clans from getting “team kills” for killing the last enemies. Maybe an additional icon in-game that shows (when using R for target) which Mech is already selected as prey from another Clan player analogical to “already attacked” we already have to prevent hitting the wrong “prey” by accident.

(Numbers are just for differentiation and not calculated with any intentions)

The IS players do not know which Clan player picked which IS Mech to avoid exploitation. Disconnects on IS side and players who want to troll can’t be avoided and will happen from time to time. Imo this is just bad luck on one run but will not happen every game & free-for-all is still available, therefore I would evaluate it as negligible.

Maybe a little bit complex, but it could give the Clans different playstyle, not just a IS copy.

The main problem with any of these ideas, we are getting clan mechs, but not clans. IS pilots will be able to drop in clan mechs. We don't have any word when the clans will be playable, so for now there are no clan teams.

Thanks for this update!

But would this not make the complete CW IS-vs-Clan feature obsolete?
And would this work with LP?

I hope PGI give us more detailed information about CW in general and Clans in detail.
