Worthless advice. That does not end the game. the only thing it does is force the other team to search for a powered down mech who's pilot is not even in-game.

Thought it was going to happen again last night - 10 min left on the clock, score 1 to 11. I spent 8 minutes running away, as angry nubs on my team was once again giving away my location. The other side finally managed to kill me, but not before I took down 3 of them. I ended the game with most kills, most damage, and highest score, on my side.

Q: Why don't you just die?
A: Because I'm not a suicidal {Dezgra} like you?

Seriously. How about you {Surat} who are complaining that I don't die fast enough, learn to play? Good players know how to stay alive. Bad players charge in and die. Stop being bad and you won't have an issue with me being the last one left alive.

Just ignore them, as long as you are engaging and kicking *** the cbills and XP are all yours. .. They just want to get back in the same mech and drop again quickly .... They should just go get a drink and chill out or watch an amazing end of game guerrilla warfare showdown.

Or just quit and drop again fit away in a different mech.

That is incorrect. I've disconnected as a last player and had the mech immediately become available when I dropped from the match.

And I know none of their players were near me to instantly kill me.

DCs are dead mechs in all modes. You can see it as part of the spectators. If the last one is DC, you get their POV but the match ends regardless.

My daughter saw Skirmish come up and thought it would be what I would call "Solaris". Glad I could explain it to her before she started to try and TK her whole team. :D

I play Skirmish mainly in an ECM cicada with PPC's,the level of hate and abuse thrown at me is incredible!

When 2 or 3 of us drop together in the same mech we are pretty much always outonned and are usually the last mechs standing against multiple bad guys, but we have pulled off some fantastic fights, most memorable in the last couple of days was being 4-10 down and when 15mins was up we lost 9-11.Many times we have taken down 100's of tonnes of mechs to win the game as well.

I really wish sometimes the timer was an extra 5mins at least as it gets to the point you have to throw yourself at the enemy and try to kill them before the game ends.

As for the people giving me and my lance all the **** in chat,we really couldn't care less,if you want a quick way to finish the game go play assault.

Oh really? Last night I was in a 2 man group, last mech alive on our team, I disconnected, and it made my team mate sit in my mech for 7 min before the other side found me.

I think I am going to trust my own personal experience before I will trust yours.

Are you saying that light and fast medium mechs have a unique place in skirmish not tied to capping a base and are totally a viable force on the battlefield for long range harassment?

Tell me you did not just increase the tactical options for these mechs how dare you!!

That only works if you have a team that are not constantly giving away your position because they are to impatient to wait the 15 minutes or they are to inept to disconnect and drop in a different mech. I think a lot of this would be solved if it were like war thunder and your mechs weren't locked in a match after you die.

The reason they added this was because people would suicide charge get. Few points then re drop with the mech right away. It was actually a measure to make sure people play the game properly.

The downside is that it gets locked yes, but I would rather than than the suicide farmers we used to have.

Got to admit, putting in a game mode where you can have 1 fast ECM mech vs 5 heavy/assaults and then have no way for the heavies/assaults to win the game and have to wait for a Time Out is possibly a poor thought out game mode.

I've already dealt with this on Skirmish a few times and its not exactly fun being forced to lumber around for 8 minutes while a light mech just runs around and doesn't engage. Skirmish needs this:

In the event there is 1 vs 4+ left, and there has been no weapon damage done in the last 30 seconds, the game automatically ends and the team with the most numbers win. It would prevent the light mech from griefing everyone, including his own team to make them sit out playing the game for 10 minutes. So at the very least, the light mech would have to do some kind of damage every 30 seconds to keep the game going. Eventually he's going to explode.

30 seconds is far too little time for such a mechanism. I've been that last light, killed an opponent, and realized I was the last one standing on the far side of the field...and the last trio are over on the other side of the map, camping near their base.

I'm not making it across the map in 30 seconds. Not to mention I've been that last light and healthy with three crippled targets that could barely shoot back, if at all. They HID from me, since it'd be a win by numbers if it timed out. Including a gunless Atlas with it's ECM working just fine and a two guys who were smart enough to hide back in a tunnel and power down (with like a PPC and two small lasers between them, but still). It took me five minutes to find two of them huddled together and I ganked the third one with less than a minute on the clock. In a Jenner. No ECM, natch.

By your rules, I'd have lost despite actively hunting the opponent.

You can't catch ninja light? Moral victory for Team Ninja Scout, you'll get the win (eventually) and next time, maybe you won't pilot something over 50 tons and remember why speed is life just to keep it from happening. There's a Steiner Locust pilot I keep seeing who manages to keep that 20-ton bug alive to the last bit of the game- and not for lack of fighting, from the battle damage - and if it's a loss, trolls the opposing team hard by playing hard-to-get.

She drives people like you nuts. I applaud. If you don't want that situation, play something that doesn't require you to catch and kill everything- I hear capping Sigma is easier than shooting that 120kph pain in the rear, as it doesn't move nearly as fast and your waddle-Mech can get close enough to do something.

Ironically, I've seen 12-0 happen in Skirmish, while even total stompfests tend to at least involve SOMETHING dying on both sides in Conquest. People are more prone to gather around resource areas, so accidental focus-fire happens enough even on terribad PUGs to have them blow something up on the opponent's side of the board.

On the other hand, I've watched (while lobbing LRMs from about 500m away) a conga line of seven light-to-assaults walk down the same path, one at a time and explode like a string of firecrackers, followed by the lance that did it (and their eight friends who were happily nomming the other four) come out and shred me afterwards.

Just leave it be. Folks aren't actually doing the "run away and hide" griefing that folks suggest.

Because really, why would you? You're wasting your own time just as much as anyone else's... and you gain nothing.

At least by fighting you have a chance to accomplish something.

Folks are so worried about this, and it's not actually happening.. so just don't worry about it. Go play the other modes if you want. Most of the folks playing skirmish are enjoying it immensely.

They do it just to be a douche to everybody, I've seen it a couple times and it is fairly annoying.

the time should be 1 minute or so, but i agree. I once saw battle where 4 damaged assault mechs were killed by raven with ER laser in HPG manifold. I think 30 secs would have prevented that but 1min would have been enough.

Sometimes, you need time to separate the enemy. It might take a few mins to get that Fatlas on his own.

Yeah, it takes time to circle the enemy force at range to try and identify the best targets... Since you can't get too close, otherwise you'll get focused on by the remaining forces, maneuvering around them takes time.

Yup. Dropped in a game the other night with one of the members of my static unit. 5 minutes into the game and we found ourselves down 10 mechs, against 6 hostiles. Lucky for us, the people on our team were just insulting us and not giving our locations away, and after circling around the map 3 times from docks to upper city, over the bridge and out to water, we managed to win the game.

Earlier today we were in a match, and once again found ourselves down 10 mechs. Unfortunatly, this time our team gave our positions away, so we were unable to do anything except run the timer out. Really made me mad too because there were at least 3 mechs that would have gone down really easy if we actually had teh chance to kite them out. There was a catapult with both legs red internals, there was a cherry red CT atlas, and a hunchback with no rear hunch armor.... all would have been easy kills, but instead, I had to run in circles for 9 minutes while some dead ****** betrayed my location to the enemy.

gg?

xhrit, I really am starting to think we should not be able to talk to the enemy team-might stop that happening a bit. It's very unfair when your team does that-spoiling your chances to take those last mechs on with a hope of winning.

Screenshot and report the goobers that are giving away your position. That is just wrong, unacceptable behavior.

At least while dead, lol. I enjoy the banter between teams - as long as it is not treasonous. Dead people should not be able to talk to the other team.

I found that some people are - how to put it - challanged by the task to change their game mode from any to skirmish.
Just had a game where people were insulting and treatening the last light on the other team for grieving.
-> He won the game because it was actually Conquest *facepalm*

There is absolutely no need to run and give up as the last remaining light. There are no penaltys there is only a lot to gain. My teammate killed 1 damaged Victor, 2 severly damaged Atlas and 1 quite healty Atlas on his own as the last and almost consecutively. He was so pumped with adrenaline that he had to calm himself afterwards. It was terrefic and thrilling to watch. Our team was cheering some of the opposing forces insulted their own teammates not understanding that a good light pilot with some luck can kill those giants. I would anytime watch something like this rather than letting one selfish ... waste the time of 23 other people.
