So I have had a mash around with most of the mechs in the game now, and by far my favourite is the little Raven RVN 4x Seem very well balanced for a light and able to perform in all sorts of nooks on the battle field. But this little soldier could do with some serious love being heaped on it. No matter what I install in it, it still looks like it has 2 machine guns 2 medium lasers and 6 ports for missiles . (sad face)
Is the little guy going to get a "pass" or "buff" soon?
Because the little birdy needs one !

Oh and while your at it can I have one as a hero mech with an extra ballistic point and an ecm , oh oh oh and a little tweak on the leg hit boxes so it doesn't have to hop around half of the match . . .

Many thanx

I just want them to fix the humongous leg hitboxes of Ravens. I can brawl decently with a 4X with 2ML+2MG+SRM6 loadout, but when everybody and their grannies know Ravens' leg hitboxes are borked and work on those, it gets annoying very fast.

You essentially have only 32 armor, that is the armor of one leg. You know you WILL get legged eventually before even having red torso armor. Jenners have thicker legs, yet they are not the damage magnets like Locusts' and Ravens' legs.

The leg hitboxes, I believe, are quite vulnerable on all mechs. People just explicitly target them on lights, and especially Ravens, given the 3L "crisis" we went through with ECM a while back. Seriously. Start targeting the legs on an Atlas or a Stalker sometime. You'll be shocked at how quickly they go down.

The reason we notice it more for the Ravens is that you can shove less armor into them. At least, so I believe. I run the 3L fairly often still, and I don't usually die to leg death.

(I die to an AC20/PPC combo to the backside that I never saw coming....)

Mud fart i think we need to gather all the Scots in this game and create a true (Free and Independent)Highlanders Regiment lulz.

PS Salmond's Highlanders ftw haha.

The raven 4x just makes me want a good 40-tonner with jjs. 35 tons is just too low to do anything good with ballistics.

Oddly enough, I see more Raven 4Xs in games than I do 3Ls. Actually, the only ECM mechs I see are D-DCs, Spiders, and the occasional Cicada 3M.

Have people forsaken the Raven 3L?

I dunno. I enjoy it. Guess most people are probably just bored with 3 med lasers and 2 streaks. There really aren't too many effective weaponsets you can cram into that frame.

The 3L is still pretty good imo!

I love my Raven 4X. It's by far my most used light mech, even since before the engine cap buff.

I don't think they will change this mech for a long, long time. It took PGI 6 months to make a comment about the RVN-4X needing a buff, and then another 6 months for them to implement it.

2 ER LL, 2 MG, JJs and XL275 engine. That's all I need. Though I wouldn't say no to another ballistic slot or two. Or some more JJs...

The 3L is my fave and best mech (see sig). And I've only been playing since it got nerfed.

I mastered the 4X. Tried a lot of things, but only really liked the 2xERLL. And the 3L does that better. It's the rare case where something (ECM) is more useful than JJ, IMO. While I can't objectively defend the 2X either, I did weirdly well in it as a "poor man's Jenner."

Raven 4x?

I know some people like to come in here and spit some fire about dps and alpha but check it.

XL210
Ultra AC5
2 Medium Lasers

Do your best Travis Haley, strap on your tight pants, and come on and slam. Don't be a Danny Trejo and bail on the heist.
Slot floppies and work that corner like a real OG.

Just remember thumb over bore is only really useful in cqb and that no matter if you've got the hottest hits or the baddest beats, the highest elos and the lowest drag is all about having fun and being a good sport.

A wise man once said "hey hey street fighter, keep fighting, make the future brighter" and I think that really applies here.

35 tons is enough for a 105 KPH AC20 with JJs. Seriously fun, but ya cant wait for it to look like it has an AC20! Then Ill play it alot more often.

Haven't had any Raven's since closed, but this - all day long. Fun, if slightly silly, build.

Once Ravens get their geometry pass, I'm gonna get a 4X again.

And it would be nice to get the engine boosted to xl 280 too.
