While still expensive, it's not quite as ludicrous and shows they are trying. I applaud this.

Couldn't find any whales. I bet you nobody bought a single one of those overpriced mechs.

Unless they rent a 3d printer and print real life scale models plated with real gold and send them off to you it's still a useless collector's item. The point of a collector's item is that it could plausibly appreciate in value because some other collector may pay you for your item. If you cannot resell, trade, or gift the item, nor use it long after MWO shuts down, then it isn't a collectors item.

I joked about it in the feature suggestions but this is literally an "I'm rich" skin designed to show off that you have so much income you don't know what to do with it. It's no different than the "I'm rich" app on the iphone that didn't do anything other than display "I'm Rich!" on the screen and cost $1000.

They are refunding the $240 for those that bought both the Masakari and Gold Mech packages, as per Russ' tweet today.

I think an "inventory" counter would work wonders for this sale. They should state clearly how many they are releasing into the game and count them down as they are sold.

Hahaha...nope...which is one of reasons why I'm not buying until they do.

The extras are what sells a pre-order for me. Clan mechs are cool and I will buy them when they are released, but I see no reason to pre-order yet because I have no idea what the extras entail.

Plenty of time to buy the packages if you want them. At least just wait and see if they meet their first deadline next year.
That will be the first test to see whether PGI can actually deliver something or whether it's business as usual for them.

I want to be able to sneak up to an enemy mech, charge at him full speed, and then about a second before impact...



Likewise I want to have a key bound to a horn so that when I suddenly round a corner, about to knock over a medium or small....

well PGI should realize that a lot of people will make their purchase decision when UI 2.0 comes out (planned feb now) and more accurate information about CW comes in. so please prioritize those things and work on delivering them. then you will be able to generate more revenue.

Keep in mind that if "quotas" are made like the phoenix packs they will probably cook up some sort of Clan loyalty rewards.

Well I have decided not to invest into new package after reading what is going on and general MWO population feedback to this "presale". Purchase simply makes no sense game-play wise or collectors wise and I do not think I am getting any advantage with that another +240$ over all you friends I am playing against beside being a fool in front of my friends how I wasted money
I suppose better equipment will be available later and I won't be piloting these variants anyway.
Although I <3 MWO and got LF and OL packages.
I am also looking to more cooler paintjob, so I do not care about skins shown already.
Gold "Mechs" look just pure silly and out of world, as bad as gold weapons in Call of Duty, MEGA LOL FAIL in art/game concept department. I'd understand some gold finishing inside cockpit and maybe some golden attachements to mech, like emblem or something, but that is all.
