I am curious as to how PGI is going to handle things like Jump jets, though. I have heard it said that Jump jets in omnimechs are both pod items (so easily added or removed) or hardwired items (so fixed to the chassis). If pod, you can bet your bottom c-bill I will be going mad with them.

Otherwise, making things like the Aiden Timber Wolf a MC only hero mech, with the jets built in, might be dangerous as it would be the only way to get jets on a TWolf, and with the interchangeability of literally everything else on the mech would be giving owners of that variant a unique stranglehold on a jet capable Timber Wolf. P2W? Probably not, but most certainly advantageous.

According to Sarma, two Dire Wolf variants have jump jets (one has ECM too). I really hope one (or both) of these variants is made available to us, either in the standard package or via a hero version.

I don't care about people calling it "Pay to Win", as that's just a hollow criticism they attach to anything and everything they don't like, don't understand, or can't formulate a rational argument against.

I agree, to an extent. However it becomes a gray area where you can buy an advantage unavailable elsewhere. IE: jump capable variant only possible in an MC mech. Honestly, jump capable or not, you can kill someone just fine if you are the better pilot, but any advantage you can get only through paying is generally a hotspot.

I think we are pretty safe on the P2W side of things - so far PGI has shown themselves more willing to err on the side of caution with that.... post feedback anyways. :)

While Aidan Pryde's Mad Cat would be interesting, it's ever so slightly out of the time period (he only had it for the last few battles of his career - he and it were KIA in 3052). I would say go with Vlad's configuration, which IIRC carried autocannons. Plus, it's a Wolf 'Mech, so it should have a Wolf personality behind it - I think the Jag paint job on it right now is a nice slap in the face already :)

Other thoughts: Joanna's Hellbringer

The fiction really focuses in on the Wolves and Falcons during the Invasion, so we don't have many other characters to go by.

Brian Cameron also ran a Hellbringer in the Dragoons, IIRC. Though it was a stock config as far as I know.

I would love to see hero mechs for all the Clans. Or at least all of them that participated in the invasion, anyways. That accounts for 7 machines. I could very easily see a Hero Nova or Warhawk for Nova Cats, for example. You know we like our energy boats! :)

Star Colonel Nicolai Malthus of Jade Falcon Summoner, or maybe Star Captain Kristen Redmond Mad Dog :)

I know I keep going to the cartoon, but darn it, I liked it as a kid.
