happy holidays everyone. im out of town and away from the desktop. was averaging 250-350 damage at home but ever since playing on the laptop here I can barely break 100. my ping is a lot higher here and im playing on medium graphics vs maxed out and low ping at home. whats going on here, is the ping the reason im seeing such low damage? its kind of ruining the game and im wondering what it could be? the only reason I can think graphics is because my laptop is running choppy fps and im not hitting as well with my lasers but the difference in damage is so drastic... any ideas?

It maybe a combination of factors.
You could have some bottlenecks in the laptop that are reducing you FPS, such as CPU, GPU and/or config settings on the computer.
Also, using a wireless connection is another factor that can cause problems, aside from having a higher ping.
We'd need more details to try to help.
Edit:
Also you can go here to see if there is something there that could help:

Yes, if your machine isn't handling the game well, you can have your framerate jump - it's a lot like lag, but it doesn't affect people trying to hit you. It could also be that your connection is less stable - that's one reason a wireless connection can be bad for gaming. Try using F9 to check for spikes in your fps, and try hooking up your laptop directly to the router via a network cable.

High ping and lower FPS absolutely will affect your damage output. you're missing far more shots than you may realize due to connection lag or even graphical pag due to a lower end system. Pressing F9 will display the FPS, if it's in the red you're gonna have a bad time.

its definitely my FPS im getting around 18-22 on medium settings and 35 on low. I guess the hits aren't registering or im missing a lot more then I realize as the above poster said.

With FPS that low try LRMs and streaks. I would bet that during a close brawl/firefight your FPS comes way down, so stay to the outside.
and drop all the settings to low, and untick that damage glow option too.
on the laptop make sure all your power saving options are set to maximum performance.
I know one guy that plays with 7 fps, not saying it's easy just possible. He usually uses a Stalker.
My 2 cents.
