Okay, just saw the Clan Collection package (3rd time I've seen a package like that from PGI, maybe I should get something?) The prices as far as I see it are far, far, far too much, even for how much I like Clan stuff. I think what PGI should've done is place a bunch of Clan mechs (from about 10-20ish) and choose one to four to buy and basically have special bonuses. But 210 for a Timber Wolf (240 for Warhawk, which some of us love as well) is a bit too much. What is all this Gold Khan stuff also, you will get an extra bunch of stuff I really can't care for and a golden mech for 500??? That's far too much PGI!

Also, how would these mechs play out, as in hardpoints, general chassis, variants in the time period, etc? Maybe a few veterans can conceptualize or speculate, as even though I loved playing them in MW4 Mercs, I dunno personally how things will go for these 8 chassis.

So, would any of you recommend them to me or any other person (mainly to any that just started?) I am a Free-to-play player as I decided to just go with the four starting mechbays and buy and sell that way, as I don't really want to spend any money.

But they're Clan mechs after all...

BTW, totally off-topic, but how would the Saber Reinforcement package fare, with Wolverine and Griffin? And with that package, would there be any for the Clan Collection package?

TL;DR: Would the Clan Collection package be any worth for it's price?

Edit: Mods, if you want to, you can move it somewhere else, but I posted it here because I am a person who's on the fence of moving from Free-to-play or not. I'm also sorta directing this to all the newer players.

500$? ROFL... Sorry... What on earth are you developers thinking? If people needed a final straw to leave this game....you just handed it out like candy.

Someone please point PGI to the definition of "MICRO" Transactions.

Thanks.

The new package I'm not too sure over - we'll need to see more about how Clan 'mechs work and what the heck some of the pieces offered do (custom modules? War Horns?) before we can even offer an informed opinion.

You do realize it isn't the only way to get the mech, it's a limited quantity gold skin version, so if you don't care about it, or don't have $500 to spend on it, then don't get it.

Oh and if you don't want to spend cash, then wait for them to be released same as the Phoenix/Sabre mechs.

I don't get why all these people complain about stuff being for sale. You can buy it all for C-bills, and if you enjoy the game then it isn't a grind.

If you don't enjoy the gameplay, then go sell blood or hey, just play something else till CW comes online.

No! Dont buy it. Stop supporting PGI for once, then they know they are putting unreasonable price. To think we dont own these mechs, we are just renting it. Think about that.

I think you guys are right, as the pricing is really high, and we do not have any info on a lot of stuff. I guess we will just wait and see.

Umm....except if you would otherwise buy it, then the price isn't unreasonable.

Seriously, buying this package is simply getting it early, and getting some extras tossed in. All you really need is one mech with a bonus to C-bills and you can earn bonus cash. So it's really just about early access, and the other bonuses.

Some people want that, and have the cash to spend. Others don't.

Personally, I've never spent this much on any game ever. I got the Overlord pack at full (not pre-order) price and got the $15 MC pack. It's not because I "support" PGI, it's because I enjoy the game but have limited playtime. So I said Happy Birthday a bit early and got myself some mechs.

Well.... not counting any of the bonus stuff:

It is about 10$ a mech.
(ignoring the gold mech stuff obviously)

Ok, I'll bite. Why?

I will say I wish you could buy just one or two tiers and pick which mech you got etc, but then no one would buy Locusts, so I get why they do it. Still the point remains no one has to buy anything at all. If you have the $740, you can get it all on day one. Otherwise, you can wait and buy it as it comes out. So what's the problem I ask again.....

Seems fine on pricing, even the gold mechs (I say that because I think they are horribly ugly and don't want to see them ingame).

I am curious what the unique modules are though

$740,

That is assuming you get all 8 gold mechs for one $500 bill. ;)
As they have a buy button next to each Gold Mech, I would assume they are $500 a piece. B)
And yet still only 1/10 of what SC made famous. ;)

To those who claim it costs to much - I will agree that $240 is a lot (not sure I can afford it, and I want it very much) but again: it is $10 a mech + bonus.

Heh, good point. So, $4,240 if you want it all. Still no one has to buy it, so why begrudge those that can? Unless you are just a hateful loser, then go right ahead ;)

And yet still lower than SC's $5,000
(NOTE: not a SC hater)

Edit: Digging through K-Town and I saw this:

i have no problems with the 500 package. you will get very few people who will buy it. it is purely for bragging rights.

Which put my feelings on the $500 mechs better than I could have put it myself. ;)

My problem with the pricing is the fact that $30 a step seems a bit much. The Phoenix pack was $20 a step, with a $30 "reinforcement" pack with 6 mechs (and bays). If the steps were $20 per step, I'd be pledging for a Nova right now, but as it is at this moment, I'm not going to spend $60 for it.

For $30 steps, I'll just wait for it to come out into C-bills. (Personally, I'd love to go with a Puma and a Ryoken. I don't want the other mechs. And I'm not dropping $180 into a game...)

PS: I'm also disappointed with the fact that they are releasing another bundle, and haven't even made the last bundle fully functional. I mean, I get a loyalty bonus and medallions that also give me more of a bonus, and there is no explanation on loyalty yet, no idea how to use the medallions (which ones to pick or even if it maters), UI 2.0 is not here, and CW isn't here yet (I can live without CW to some extent). HSR is still messed up last I knew, and Hit Registration (because of HSR kinda) is still also not always working right...

Basically, the Phoenix mechs aren't even "fully working" yet (loyalty) and they are trying to release Clan packs with no explanation (yet) as to how many basic clan systems are working (Omni mostly)...
