So here's my JM6-S build that I've been doing so incredibly well with my past few matches. I've been getting 600+ DMG and anywhere from 2 to 8 kills :P. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...25c5fc439cda35b.I am currently working towards an XL300, as well as an extra ton of ammo. Although the heat dissipation might seem bad, if you put it on chain fire and fire those AC/10's seperately, on hot maps, it can manage itself. It might not seem so great at first, but I personally have been having a lot of fun with it on maps like Crimson Strait. I can usually take out lights fairly easily if I get a good dual AC/10 hit on their legs, then use my ML's and wait for my AC's to recharge. Thoughts on this build, how to improve it and what you think of the JM6-S/what your build is?

Works better with a Ilya Muromets. Faster, lasts longer, and can tank damage better. Otherwise dump 2 MLs and the DHS for more ammo and a 300xl. To fit it you will need to pull 3 tons off of each leg. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...87924f89e33ee11

Very similar to a common K2 build. I think Sean Lang runs his K2 with pretty much this payload.

2x AC2
2x AC5
XL280

It can punch some serious holes in things with good range and solid speed. Have to be a little careful at times with the ammo, nothing major, just don't waste it if you aren't hitting.

There's lots of builds you can run, it's a very flexible mech. I've had success with dual ac10, tripple uac5, quad ac5, dual ac2 dual ac5.

The only thing I would suggest is not to go overboard with energy weapons. Those are backup medium laser slots, if you have room, nothing more.

You can build close to that with a STD 260 if you use ferro.

XL300 is the way to go with a little less armor and 2 mlas. way faster

I use that exact same build, with one less DHS and another ton of ammo. I am extremely happy with it's performance.

Question: My GF likes the BJ-1(C) and I was thinking about building her http://mwo.smurfy-ne...76b10e0685b91a8 do you think your version or mine would be better adapted for that style?

I was under the impression that one big AC was generally a better investment than two smaller ones given the weight similarity. so a single AC20 and an AC2 for long range might be more rounded than mine while yours is ok at range...any thoughts?

My gf also loves BJ B)

jokes aside Its hard to answer your question but I wouldn't try to make other make act like some other BJ has special place because of manoeuvrability and fast arm for aiming that makes it deadly. Only mech that i can think of that can resemble it is Victor with AC20 big engine and jjs and some weapons for back up its defiantly going sacrifice some firepower but its going to go fast and be there to do damage just like BJ.

Generally two smaller weapons will out DPS 1 Bigger weapon at the cost of tonnage. An example would be 2 AC5s versus the Gauss Rifle. The 2 AC5s will do 20 damage in the same time frame as 1 GR and it has more ammo per ton (15 shots versus 10). It weighs 16tons versus 15 and takes up 8 slots versus 7. Another funny fact is the AC10 is better than an AC20. The 10 can do 150 damage per ton, longer range, faster projectile, weighs 2 tons less and only takes up 7 slots with the downsides being less burst damage and 1 DPS less. The AC40 Jagermech is slower and only holds 840 damage worth of ammo and only within 270 meters. The twin AC10 Jagermech can hit 82.2kph with speed tweak, has enough ammo for 1050 damage and its optimal range is within 450 meters. One design that I have been seeing is a mix between both worlds is the http://mwo.smurfy-ne...92c58d9cce24775 and that seems to do well although I have yet to buy a Jagermech to try it (too damn ugly).

P.S. Hold onto that girl. Mine likes Battletech and MechWarrior but I cannot get her to play.

I do all I can to hold onto her :( and you make good points about max damage. though 20dmg*42ammo=840dmg whereas the OP's link was 10dmg*60ammo=600dmg. and AC 20 does more damage than AC10 up to 540m and then trails off much faster. So I'd have to trade in a heat sink and leg armor for the AC/10's to have more ammo bringing it up to 900total.

At your suggestion I might have her try my victor with AC/20,2LL,LRM10 which goes 78kmph with jj. I didn't think they felt the same, and figure high symmetrical weapons would really help her not miss due to terrain, otherwise an Illya would be an option.

She is sad to lose or gain much speed from the BJ-1© and JJ, though she isn't using them to full potential yet.

And there's always the Shawk to do everything better than anyone else, except for once it's not better except for armor. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...7057967e5f93762

Edit: Overall I'm looking for something that will be attractive to her so she has her own mech rather than just the one trial that she likes. So far she likes maneuverable and direct fire that doesn't need the advanced zoom module. I may be able to get her try backup missiles now that she has a better grasp on locking, and she didn't like the spider for being too fast and not enough umph. Maybe http://mwo.smurfy-ne...40ecdad6b9b0976 so that elite talents are more within reach.

I would use something like this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...92c3351cf949b83

If you use all weapons systems effectively its monster you can also go for something more user friendly and switch some weapons for PPCs but this is general idea you can also increase engine to go even faster.

Im using this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...616856af7c61ff3

3 ac2 7 tons ammo, 4ml, AMS 1 ton ammo, 416 armor endo-steel, 15 DHS and XL 260. its a long range build with a good punch when someone is close.

for my cata-k2 i use 2 UAC/5 2 ERLL.

Dual AC/20's are usually not my first pick, mostly because of the lack of range. If your girlfriend loves the trial BJ however, she's gonna like short range punch-damage mechs, in which case this might be quite a decent build. You just need to watch the heat and make sure you don't fire those lasers too often to keep the heat down, especially on hot maps. Also, don't forget rear armor on all your torsos :).
