....and then this happened:
my family and I left the 21st to move into our new home we purchased in Oregon. When we got in at 1AM on the 22nd I heard what sounded like a rushing river from inside the house. When I opened the door I saw about an inch of water on the tile floor and the carpet was completely soaked and all the furniture we moved in last month was completely saturated with water. Water was pouring from every light fixture. I ran upstairs towards the sound of the rushing water and found my master bath had water shooting out of it like a fire hose.
Downstairs ceiling had tons of little blisters of water in the latex paint
water tracked down all the walls so they're going to need to go
brand new cabinets swelled up and no longer function
called the insurance, they got a mitigation team out yesterday.
house looks like this today (my wife and I's 5th year anniversary by the way) :
my deductible is $500 - the same money I set aside for my gold mad cat

I can't even begin to imagine what that's like... Really sorry to hear about that.

wow, that sucks. Couldn't you sue the person who sold you the house for this?

OMG. I am so glad that didn't happen to me, but I am sorry it happened to you.
And congrats on the anniversary. At least one thing went right.
Any idea how it happened? Was all the plumbing hardware stolen and someone turned on the water main?

This sounds and looks bad!
I hope you get it sorted and that your insurance covers for the damage.
