My theory was to save the ton and half and use my PPC to disable ECM long enough for me to get one or two volley's of SSRMs off and it really worked great. Especially on the easy to hit DDCs. Managing the heat is easy enough since the Heat efficiency on the build is 1.49.
I saw people on MWO claim PPCs will still disable ECM for 5 seconds within 90m on the forums....is this true?
Now here is the trick question that came to me:
Do PPCs disable the ECM protection from a Mech under the umbrella when hit? Seeing how ECM mechs are target priority for the most part this might be a non factor. Does disabling the ECM mech drop the umbrella from all the mechs under it for 5 seconds as well. My common sense tells me that a PPC should not disable ECM protection from a mech under the umbrella and that hitting the ECM mech itself with a PPC should drop protection for every mech under it as well.
I would rather be told than test it since I am lazy.
Are there people that would say using a PPC instead of BAP is a good alternative?
My reason's for doing so:
-I can hit lights with pinpoint PPCs reliably.
-I get a long range weapon with solid pinpoint damage.
-I prefer to use that ton and half saved as a DHS, Jump Jets/ or armor.
The build
