Would a 1 million dollar stretch goal be enough to have a stand alone single/co-op campaign?
I only ask because as much as I enjoy having battles with great mech fighters, I would occasionally like to just chill with my main posse and smash some scripted bots while progressing thru a rich story.
Think about it.
You have the gameplay, you have the graphics, you could even add clans because the bot ai won't be as smart as a human mech pilot.
It's just scripts and trigger points.
I mean if SC can get to 28 mil and they have some really great goals, then surely MWO can do this with this modest goal.
Maybe a 2 million goal we would get editing tools. The community could then make there own maps and mission, their own mech designs, new and unseen. (wink wink)

Keep in mind that MechWarrior: Tactics is not related to or being developed by Piranha Games Inc., but is rather being developed by a different company (Blue Lizard Games). It just so happens that both games are being published by the same publishing company - Infinite Game Publishing.
PGI already said they *want* to make a Campaign game, but their first efforts failed a few years ago when no major gaming publisher would pick the project up. More information is available here. Their current course-of-action is to release the full online-only Community Warfare functionality, and then if the game continues on a profitable route, then they may work on releasing single-player or co-op Campaign Missions... however this is contingent on Community Warfare going online for a while, first.

funny thing really, but I actually did not know that Mechwarrior Tactics wasn't being developed by pirahna games, glad you pointed that out.
So, minus the ever so occasional complaints from users, I think the overall reception for MWO is really quite good. I think they'd have a much better chance now with single player then they did before they went online. If anything, I'll be here to give my full support to single-player campaign if they do decide to go ahead with it.

This is my single greatest desire for the MWO game at this point. Single/Lance/Coop play. Can we get an official statement of intent?
I feel my spending is further decreased as time goes on without the 'basic MW' content, which is very much MY hangup. That's the thing with hangups, you can't just drop them cause someone asks you to. It's a hangup for a reason. Spending $500 on a game HOPING they make this (S/L/C) aspect is a bit beyond me but if Clantech came out AFTER single/Lance/Coop I would not have hesitated like I did to rush in on the buy. I got more MC instead for Champions that I desired.
I have been waiting with bated breath since beta for MOAR than just arena slugfests, Save me IGP-wan you're my only hope!
