I don't know when the flea will be coming out, but my question to you is, will you see more fleas, or locusts?

Neither. Most players don't like to play in bad mechs, especially outside of the steering wheel underhive.

Neither, the Urbanmech. :)

On a serious note, I would rather have a more competitive light, similar to Firestarter, Javelin, Wolfhound, etc.
But if I had to have one of those, I would rather get Locust. Flea is just that weak weaponry wise.

Like any mech, you will see the Flea quite a bit when it first comes out, and then it will dry up...UNLESS the MASC system completely borks the hit registration and the thing can't be hit. Then, it will be everywhere and as hated as the spider.

Assuming there are no problems with MASC, in the long run, the MASC system Flea might fair better due to the additional speed boosts. Depends on how MASC is implemented I suppose. If it damages internals or the engine as frequently as the UA/C5 jams, it might be not worth it.

It will be intertesting to see how it plays out.

After the locust i'd be in no rush to buy a flea, way too fragile.

Speed isnt a replacement for armour.

I would use the flea and the locust. I will disagree that speed is not a substitute for armor and point out the deaths knell which I have going at 171 kph. Anyway I just play for fun and every few matches I will go over 300 damage in the locusts if I play smart. I enjoy them but then again that's just me. Plus the flea is even smaller than the locust so I personally think it would be cool if the atlas could just step on it. I wouldn't mind being killed that way. If you get caught by an atlas you deserve it there.

I don't know if it's a "thing". But, it's as real as the "competitive" scene.

I'm looking forward to the Flea; im even going to spend real £ to buy Mech bays for it. I see the Flea as a Jenner Hunter, especially once we get MASC.

The Flea actually has one big advantage over the Locust: All the variants are energy-heavy.

The best Locust is the energy-heavy 3M with 5 energy hard points. If our conjectures are true, the Flea will have these variants:
FLE-17: 5 energy hard points
FLE-15: 5 energy, 2 ballistic
FLE-4: 4 energy hard points.

As you can see, they're all basically LCT-3Ms.

I am going to defend the Locust here. The Flea could have a very crappy engine cap which will hurt both heat dissipation and available criticals. MASC may also be fixed, further limiting builds. I rather like the arm energy hardpoints on the 3M. The number one danger to Locusts is leg damage not losing an arm. I think the Locust will still be the better energy boat. If they improve machine guns I am wiling to look at the Flea over the Locust-1V.

the flea, like its name will be a flea.

a minor irritation but nothing life threatening.

scratch it if you want, or don't. it doesn't really matter if you have a flea on you. that being said even a flea can bite and draw blood.

the locust on the other hand, is a pest and if you dont deal with it; it will devour your crop.

You do know the fle is what spread the plague/black death that killed 30-60% of europe, or 1/3 depending on what source you get the death toll.

I WANT MY FLEAS NOW!!!!! It will have the same speed as the Locus but have MASC for temp boost to speed but will have the one thing the Locust does not have... JUMP JETS BABY!!!

I'm sorry to have to disappoint you, but it probably won't have the same speed as the Locust, since its standard engine is a 120 vs the Locust's 160. It'll probably be no faster than 137.7 (120 * 1.4 = 168, rounded up is 170, 170 / 20 * 16.2 = 137.7).

To add some needless salt to that wound, it won't have jump jets either; that's the 15-ton FLE-14 variant which we won't get. None of the likely variants (FLE-17, FLE-15, and FLE-4) have jump jets.

What the Flea does have on the Locust is three variants with a minimum of four energy hard points, meaning they'll all pack a nice enough punch.

WHY DO YOU KILL ALL HOPES FOR A 20-TON JJ MECH?

DO YOU NOT BELIEVE IN MECH JESUS? ;)

Does a Commando have to kneel for this miracle?

Oh trust me, I've been wanting to pilot a Wasp or Stinger for about 25 years now. I'd love to see those in-game, but I think someone might have to do unspeakable things to Harmony Gold before that would happen.

THEY are the ones that kill your hope - I'm just telling you not to get it up again needlessly.
