I don't really mind if they bring it back as an option, but they took it out for your own good. They made you stick out like a sore thumb even in low-visibility areas.

1. I love it.

2. This is the extra flavor that makes the game magic.

It would be imbalancd if the Atlas had such a cool feature. Who would want to drive any other mech then?

I say make the red eye heat-scale dependent.

...sneaking around at 10% heat, nearly impossible to discern the glow.

...but once that dude rolls into battle and starts alpha'ing his 100t ars-off, HERE COMES THE GLOW!

No, you're just posted in a unneeded duplicate thread.

If anything, a mod will probably see this thread and close it.

yo dawg, atlas is supposed to have glowing eyes what scarify lesser mechwarriors(such as the pilots from any of the great houses but not the FRR)

if we could toggle the atlas's eyes on or off, then that would give the atlas pilot the ability to wage psycological warfare on the enemy team (which was part of the original design concept of the mech) it would also be a good representation of the atlas's ability to distract enemy mechs from the table top.

picture an atlas sitting back giving supporting fire to its team, then an enemy comes around a corner and unloads on the atlas, after his alpha strike the atlas is still standing, then suddenly his eyes turn red and he begins to advance on the fool that alhpa'd him.

bro.

Atlas used to have glowing eyes, it has been removed because atlas is big walking mech with red lights at night map asking to shoot it,

Just toggle on the eye that is the cockpit, I always forget which one to shoot at in the heat of battle  .

I do kind of miss the glowing eyes though, it was a trademark of the chassis. Plus, it looked really mean.

Personally, I would keep my eyes turned off at all times, since that nice red glowing spot over my cockpit would just be reminding enemies to shoot me there, and give them a nice glowing spot to target. However, if I wanted to taunt the enemy, they would be useful. "Your so bad you can't even hit my cockpit if I turn my lights on, bro!"

They took off the Atlas eyes for a reason: There is an aimbot program that can't be 'caught' because it seeks pixels of certain color to aim rather than picking up server data like most other aimbots do. It was used to headshot atlas a LOT long ago. The eyes were switched off I think because of it. After the patch that turned the lights off I didnt see any more headshotted atlas.

Will the lights flicker, then go out when I core the Atlas?

If so, then OK.

bro.

The problem with that is this; HAHAHAHAhahahahahaha.

It's an atlas. The eye lights on or off makes no difference.

Ok, it would be a nice bit of flavour but definately not psychological warfare. And as has already been said; aimbot city.

Except for the obvious r e t a r d s ( yes, I said it, because who with any vet still remaining could be against this) replying to this, this have been a given since long ago, no one even knows why they shut this down without this option.

without being a ***. the eyes got shut off because it was a guass meta.(this is pgi thinking fyi) the guass could shot up to 1900m. the eyes could be seen up to 1500m add in blue vision at the time. any atlas at the time was pegged in teh ct and did not last very long. so instead of do changes to guass, u know a logical thing at the time. pgi deiced to just take away the red eyes instead of putting in a toggle. all this happened well before open beta.
