(The tattoo like things).
Which mechwarrior has not had since mw2.
where it was awesome by the way.
proving graphics are overrated.
The downside is the neural damage and inevitable insanity, but meh, only cowards live to 30!

I wish though that more people played Wolfman-x (MC2X mechcommander 2 Wolfman-x edition) or MCO (Mechcommander Omnitech by Magic). There is actually one campaign that involves you being a clanner with clan mechs only, but the only two guys that look like clanners are Payback and Nuke (they have black marks all over their face.)

Mechcomander 2 was tons of fun once you mod it to fix all the issues. Most notably the the NPC AI by default is totally rere; I ended up scripting my own AI subroutines to group up, share targets, focus fire, and leash, instead of just agroing on the first mech and chasing it until dead.

Yeah, this is exactly what Magic and Wolfman did (plus create all kinds of different 'brains' and strats for the enemy to come through.)
For example, some of Wolfman's missions made a certain mech become 'leader' of a group and then charge and pick the weakest mech to attempt to beat down. Another scenario is when there are charges of just random off map enemies just continuously pecking at your forces, always hitting you, never hitting them, and half the time there is ECM, which is more OP in that game than in this game. While some ECM basically hid the force only from minimap, others not only hid from the minimap, the entire battlefield! They are literally sneak attackers, like Houdini Daishi with that one shot Tangoblue... (The Dire Wolf X has 2 large X-pulse lasers, 9 HFDs which are insta kill shotguns, and 1 Tangoblue which is a ********* of death that follows targets...)

When first encountered the Inner Sphere did think the Clan pilots had tattoo's, only to realize later that these were implanted neuro connectors that replaced the cumbersome IS helmets. This freed up the Clan pilots from being physically or directly connected (helmets/cables) to their Mech's. The cartoons used this lore idea and showed them as glowing when engaged, all just eye candy.
If the Clan Mech's being presented to us are showing similar ideas to the facial "interface" stripes we may conclude that there is some exterior sensor array that may be present on these Mech's. Or it's just art work for better differentiation to IS Mech's, as very little has been released about these Mech's and what they have as options, load-outs, quirks.
We haven't seen any reference to "distinct" colour lay outs that represent the different Clan factions, and there is quite a bit of reference on how each Clan has unique colours/patterns and display's it's "Totem" animal on all there Mech's. We haven't even been shown that individual Clan's preferred certain chassis, or didn't have access to all the model's. There's a great deal of info that has not been released about anything Clan, and probably should have been made public before we had any Mech's to look at.
