Hi guys,
I don't like to whine about this and that but this is getting out of hand. Dual gauss rifle on a ctf-4x, direct hit in the back of a spider who is standing still 300m from me and his back armor just goes orange? I mean, how is this possible? This is just an example, it is happening a lot lately. Other thing; Hitboxes aren't reallt working well, especially the head. Try to kill an Atlas by destroying his big head and you will see what I'm talking about. We did an experiment, an Atlas stands still and I try to shoot it in the head with ER Large, medium and medium pulse lasers. Got to yellow and it stayed like that until the torso blew up. Another thing with the ECM's. Sometimes you can get a lock on an ecm-ed mech, sometimes you can't. Sometimes tag works on an ecm, sometimes it doesn't. Also the missle lock bug. Sometimes it just stays yellow and bipping until I change the target then change back to the original target and get a lock. I mean, it's nice to have a free to play MW but a lot of us are buying mechs for cash. If you expect people to pay $10-$20 per mechs you really got to do something about the bugs. Hope you take some time to work on the game and not on the new mechs for sale! :P

Merry Xmas!

The head on an Atlas is the left eye. It's not a bug, it's like that on purpose, and most other mechs have similarly small cockpits. (The Atlas would be the easiest mech in the game to kill if it was the whole head.)

Here's everyone's hitboxes.

ECM is kind of complicated once you factor in jamming, BAP, the range of your tag, distance from the ECM, LOS, modules, and probably some other stuff. I can't specifically explain it off the top of my head with all the numbers, but sometimes it completely prevents lock and sometimes it delays it.

Otherwise yes, there are hitreg issues in this game.

Yep, The atlas headshots need to be off angle I'm guessing. 30 to 45 degrees. Its all Left Eye to win.

The only way to effectively kill a spider is to rip the legs off. If you aim for the torso it´s like shooting an assault.
Could be the ping that causes this ( mine is about 110), but I got the feeling it´s their kind of too detailed hitbox in combination with the small size.

I´ve never seen any other light running through a team of heavies and assaults and still being only bright yellow...

No hitboxes or hit detection is broken. Look at the Ac/20 for example. I abandoned my ac/40 Jaeger a few weeks ago here is why,

In one game I nailed a Hunch 6 times with an AC/20. I was at full health no damage to me at all. The Hunch was at 80% when we brawled. Not all my hits were CT but at least 4 were without doubt. That is 80 damage as all shots were under 100 meters. His CT armor was orange and I died. I hit him a few times with ML but full duration was not on CT.

Next game I kill a 100% healthy Muromets with 3 shots to CT from AC/20 and 2 ML hits. The ML gave me the kill.

So I changed my AC/40 mech to a Dual Guass. I have seen the same issues with guass. I have hit mechs at or just beyond optimum range and they show no damage or barely any damage. I nailed an Atlas 8 times CT as he came straight at me on Alpine map starting at 600 meters. I retreated when he was 150 meters an his CT armor had been removed with last shot.

I have had similar things with SRM's and PPC. I do not know why as I am not a software expert but I hope its not ping related, I avg about 130 to 140 ping.

I have the same issue with super delay locking or no locking at all with my LRM on countered ECM enemy mechs. This also happens to all the enemy mech that is non ECM but standing near the countered ECM mech. It wasn't like this before.

When you have 2 Jennens with BAP and a ECM Spider running behind enemy line, lighting everything up and asking you to dump LRMs onto a target but you can't because it won't lock as it stay as a yellow circle forever...... It's really frustrating.

The Atlas' head is a poor example, as others have said only the left eye is the cockpit hitbox.

Otherwise, yes, I think most players will agree hitboxes/hit detection is nto perfect, although some players are much more affected by this than others. I see you are from Australia, so I imagine on a good day your ping is at least 300? This will affect your hit detection significantly and there is only so much blame you can plae on "the game" when you're playing from the other side of the planet.
