[projecteulogy]

I've been one shot by quite a few weapons in this game in my trivial existence here. While in my LRM happy Cata, I was standing behind a ridge and raining LRMs as usual. The only damage i had done to me was my left arm(red) and my right leg(yellow).

I noticed that I had a hollow red triangle while facing the ridge, all i could see was the terrain. While using 3rd person, my "ears" weren't even above the ridge as I started backing down. Next thing I know, I fall over dead. The damage that killed me was an AC5 that destroyed my cockpit.

What? I don't mind dying 602829 times but this isn't the first time ive been shot through the terrain(Not targeted, Shot, with an Auto Cannon, the only weapon with similar sound is the GC). Can someone help me out by telling me exactly what happened? I tried to google some things but i'm assuming there are no hacks, and everything damage wise is server side.

It didn't even register who killed me, just the screen with the damage popped up and What killed me. I asked in game who shot me down, no one could answer me because there was no notification to the left hand side on "soandso killed projecteulogy".

Some elaboration by a vet, dev, or someone with a clue would be greatly appreciated because i have no earthly clue what happened. Its not lag because I average 90ms or Less, rarely do i hit above 110ms.

It could have been 4 AC5s that hit you, since it only says the type, not the amount. The Cat has a large head so its pretty common to do down that way.

There are many 4X Phracts around at the moment sporting 4xAC5s. It's the latest flavour of cheese.

If you took a screenshot of the death display as well, showing that there was no 'killed by XXX' that way you could submit a bug report to support@mwomercs.com

Could be 4xAC5, combined with HSR and bullet drop (that thing where AC rounds drop below the reticle over distance) Either that, or you were slightly higher above the ridge than you think you were.

Did they really implement bullet drop in thise game? Could anybody confirm? I'd be damned...

Yes, use an AC20 and its very clear. Gauss I dont think is affected, but AC10 and 5 do have slight. Very little on 2s.

Oh man, thanks for pointing it out. Was this recent? I've been practicing LBX and 3xAC2 builds lately and haven't touched those bigger guns for a while. Didn't notice it from patch notes though I could've missed it...

It's been there for as long as I can remember. It's quite noticeable when using advanced zoom.

Tourmaline and Alpine are good maps to see it happen. load up some ac/5 and hit the testing grounds.
