Seeing as at least i am not entirely sold on the "1 day in real life=1 day in timeline" concept, I was thinking of something that might keep the timeline intact without the game spanning over 4 real decades just to catch up.

Era Modes

Basically you could set the matchmaker to filter out matches so that it only puts you in matches that say allow tech available before 3025 or 3050 and so on and so forth. The devs could release these eras over a timeframe that isn't as much as 4 decades and still means that players who wanted to use older era mechs and equipment won't be immediately creamed by players that would use newer tech.

(i don't know if this idea has been presented before, if it has i had no idea of it being such)

The Atlas is from the 28th century (we are gamewise in the middle of the 31st century) so if you call that newer tech then old tech must be something from the 25th century.

what i'm really getting is that i don't think most players would want to have to wait 20 years to get more than 3025 tech (yes i know there is a massive group of 3025 fans, but seriously 20 years of 3025 only could kill interest)

I have no clue what you are going on about.

And I guess no one else did since I'm the only one responding to your thread.
