hate to start a flame war, but I agree. MW has a point, at least for playstyles that stick religiously to the meta, but the delivery was kinda... asinine.

The problem isn't him saying X is better than Y. I freely admit that I am far from the end all, be all fountain of wisdom at this game. But dear gawds, his delivery is practically engineered to drive people away. When I, of all people, think you're coming across as an arrogant *****, you might want to reconsider your delivery.

I still think the best Medium Mech is the Yen Lo Wang.

I fare better with the SHD 2D2 (2 ML, 1 LRM, 3 SSRM) - i have a W/L of 1,4 but it lacks the 30% Bonus from the SHD(P) but in exchange i have a W/L of 1,1 in the SHD(P).

I would like to have a SHD with 1x Ballistic, 3x Energy, 3x Missiles and 4 JJ.

No its the Black Hawk even though it has not been released yet its the Black Hawk. "Its one of the clan mechs in the clan pack go look for yourself."

With Ghost heat and the increased heat on Clan ERmLas over IS mLas, that will be questionable. I'd prefer the Storm Crow over the Nova, but that is all speculation at this point. Won't be another 8 months until we get to play with them.

and most importantly you gain an additional ton over the 2D2 with similar builds since you don't need to armor the Left Arm. One ton is enough to make or break MANY builds in the mechlab.

lol, anyone who runs a medium with no armor in one of the arms is a noob. that arm just so happens to be a shield for you to soak damage with torso twisting. I highly recommend you learn and practice this, you will live alot longer. You are right though, 1 ton is enough to make or break a mech build, and if you dont spend that ton on armor to protect you, your build is already broke.

Cicada. No armor in the arms. Most games I end with 500-700 damage done. With speed, one can "backstab", Tons of fun

I'm personally convinced Shawk is the best medium in the game, maybe the best overall mech (I know, it's not an assault. But I've gone big game hunting with mine, and have had good results "punching-up" against way heavier mechs.) Among the variants, everyone will have their preference. I myself am pretty happy with my 3xAC2 Pee-Shawk...

Also, it's probably still too early to get a rounded analysis, but the other night I saw a Griffin score 1k. Kint's pretty good, too. I haven't had much luck personally with my Wolverines, yet. Still, I definitely think 55 tons is a "sweet spot;" they run more like fast heavies (with 1/2 ton jump jets!) than big mediums.
