Tonight I prosecuted a heinous felon in Cayutome system. I tracked him for a day. He was found guilty by Galactic courts for tax evasion through combat logging a couple of days ago. He was sentenced to death. Tax collecting is a hard job with little respect. But we do it for the families and their children.

Remember, traders, pay your taxes please.

If you want to trade with little Cred than you are correct, the cheaper trading ships (hauler, type-6, etc.) don't offer much of either, weapons or cargo space. True fighter/trader ships start getting costly that's for sure. I still recommend the ASP. The Vulture has some decent firepower, but can only carry ~12 tons of cargo unless you want to ditch the shield, which doesn't net you that much more cargo space. The ASP is only 700,000 Cred more and a worthy investment. You can be quite well armed and still carry 100+ tons.

Sounds like the side you picked was probably for a Conflict Zone or something. I think those are only relevant in the instance you select them in.

Hmm. This is a tough choice. I love maneuverability a lot (it helps against other pilots). Shields are a big plus too.

I had one funny episode two nights ago. I killed around 5 tough guys in a system and travelled to the dock station. I was granted landing, started to align my position, and then my guns fired, and I lost everything! :-)
It turns out that my cat was lying on the desk and pushed the left mouse button with his enormous shoulders! Ha-ha! I had to unbind the buttons from the mouse and put the cat onto my lap instead.

Started ED over when i reconfigured my controls back to Right-Hand-Joystick bcs i am better at operating the Keyboard with my left hand - works good enough to keep me playing as it feels much more natural to me that way.

Its a game you really can get lost in Immersion...

...i like that!

Once You go Hotas way, You never look back. :)

This solution improved drasticaly my precision and bounty income. Read first post on the link 2-3 times.
https://www.reddit.c...ixing_deadzone/

I havent noticed deadzone problems on my Hotas-X but It solved (for me) accuracy and responsiveness, complete new felling. Twist joystick lightly - precise movements. Twist more - faster and further movements.

Don't install both vjoy drivers to prevent conflicts! I have used second.

Now I will be playing with this:

Yea Exo, that ObsidianAnt video is quite nice. I tried out both the software's he outlines in that video, and couldn't get SweetFX took work, but reshade looked very nice. Unfortunately, with my rig there was too much of a FPS hit. So I ended up uninstalling. Neither took a lot effort to get working, but I ultimately found EDFX to be the best software for the job. I dno't think Ant mentions that one in his video, but it's a nice little app developed by a community member that acts as a quick GUI for applying reshade/custom graphical settings without having to reload ED or mess with the code much on your own. HERE'S THE LINK to the forum for EDFX. Check it out, I found it extremely convenient, especially because it allows you to tweak settings and save them as 'graphical loadouts', which you can swap on the fly. Again though for me, even with medium enhanced settings my rig couldn't handle it well enough (~25 FPS).

I hope to be getting a x52 from my girlfriend for Christmas, never even touched a HOTAS before :). Should be fun.

I like the Twichstreams of this Guy:
http://www.twitch.tv/londongaming4fun

Btw. the Weapontargetting/-aiming functionality would fit a game like Mechwarrior very well and solve all pinpoint problems...

For my Brothers-in-Arms:

https://steamcommuni...s/?id=542885069

Verified. Earned 20.000.000 Cr in 2 hours + 30 mins travelling there. Could be much more but I didnt bother with additional trading. I can buy Python now, but somehow I felt in love with my Asp Explorer (I call it mini-Python with 80 tons of cargo space).

Bring second to best engines, FSD and thrusters, hull reinforcement (great stuff), fuel scoop mandatory and chaff. There will be a lot of interdictions but nothing seriuos (at least wasnt for me). Do not accept missions lower then 800.000 Cr and give lots of charity. One more thing before going there, load many protogenic cells and some food. They will be greatfull.

@Torqemada: Yes! But then this game would be Battletech , not CODonline so... B)

@T Khrist - to my knowledge x52 is an excellent choice. Merry her !

My word.. that link puts Socho to shame. If only I weren't so horribly addicted to FO4.. All my free time is spent playing that; and all of my free time from that is spent keeping up on the MWO and UA forums. There's just no time! Just Cause 3 comes out in 10 days, then IIC mechs, then Horizons. WHY SO MANY DEVELOPERS WANT TO RELEASE GOOD THINGS AT THE SAME TIME! Stagger that stuff. Come on.

I picked Elite up for $14 on Steam's Black Friday sale. Wow, harkens back to that legendary game I-War with LDS drive and Jumpspace, but with high realism. PGI should take a look at this game, MWO needs a lot of the same things, singleplayer mode, space travel, etc.

This game will make you buy that joystick! From there it's a easy leap to Mechs.

I noticed that sale! Great deal. If you're enjoying the game a lot, you can get the planetary landings DLC: Horizons for 15 dollars off if you currently own ED. It comes out around Christmas. The discount is only good for preorders though. Do some reading up on it if you're interested. I do highly suggest picking it up though if you're planning on continuing to play ED, the game will be forever changed when Horizons hits.

And no joke about the HOTAS. Never wanted a joystick until ED, finally order my X52 pro today.. along with..

.. an EVGA NVidia Geforce GTX 970 4gb For The Win.

My current GPU handles ED, MWO, and Fallout 4 on nearly all ultra settings, but when I booted up Just Cause 3 yesterday, even on low, I couldn't really get a decent frame rate; sucked. I assume my rig will crunch Horizons when it's released as well. So I bit the bullet and decided to be broke until next check and picked up that beast of a card. I cannot wait to get those in the mail. EDFX on high with a HOTAS.. here I come.

Oh, I am looking forward to trying out MWO with them as well. I think I'll end up liking it with the joystick and throttle.

I'm afraid ED will run bad with Horizons with my current system and can't afford to upgrade...

Seeing all the bad framerate posts in the beta forum has me worried.

Its getting better with each patch for Horizons, playing with that fancy cpu/gpu load slider comes in handy

It will run insanely fast.
I am on i7-930@3.08/ 680GTX, 12 GB; and it is VERY smooth.

Got the x52 today, GPU will be here tomorrow.

It's almost intuitive, though not easy, to use the joystick and throttle to play Elite. The controller feels so smooth, and I really like all the little features of it. It's very comfortable in my hands. I have to say I'm quite pleased with my purchase. Getting used to where all my functions are now is going to take a lot of getting used to, along with the feeling of the joystick to make small adjustments and corrections.

I also tried out MWO with the HOTAS..

There was much laughter as my roommate and I tried to stumble our way around the testing grounds. The mapping was nice and easy, which surprised me. PGI did a nice job on that. Controlling the mechs leg direction with the joystick was impossibly against our years of left-handed turning, and we just couldn't get a feel for it. We can however see getting used to it with much practice. Still though, we spent a good 2 + hours laughing until we cried at our struggles. I just hope it didn't screw up my muscle memory for Tukayyid :P.

You would laugh if You see me playing MWO as a Pacific Rim pilot. Standing position, GameTrak tied to both hands, right hand arms, left hand torso, right foot alpha shooting, wireless mouses in hands for weapons, targeting and consumables. Similar to the guy on the right side in this video at 1:55. Works rather good for slow mechs (Daishi). Posted Image

I will be joining the ~400 CMDRs venturing out in to the void on the Distant Worlds expedition. For anyone who's interested, there's a link to the FD forums thread below. The trip will take ~12 weeks, and will encompass traveling 65,000+ Ly's from this very planet, and that's just one way..

Once the 85,000+ Ly's the expedition will take are covered, we will be sitting comfortably on the other side of the galaxy as far from inhabited space as we can possible go. From there we will decide to continue exploring, or prepare for the long trip home.

It's the most perilous voyage a CMDR can make, even more-so with Horizons..

One bad landing can mean months of work down the drain. I hope I can make it to Beagle Point; less than 20% of the fleet is actually expected to make it there..

I'm not a seasoned explorer at all, but I'm up for the challenge. I'll see some breathtaking views along the way, and be noted in the records for where I've been. Not many have been where we're going, let's see what we find :).
