Should be as an option as I don't want to pay for an engine I don't want to use. I'd rather do the drugdework of grinding an XL300 and then not having to pay for some other useless engine which I don't need.

Extra cost is not needed.

Editors note:
I am perfectly aware that an XL300 does not fit on EVERY SINGLE TYPE OF 'MECH. It however serves as a good baseline for many 'Mech's.

I proposed this a while ago that we should be able to just buy shells of mechs and build them from ground up. Would be a lot cheaper and would be fun to, every couple of matches, add a part to the mech until it's finally complete.

would be nice indeed, since I usually only want the chassis, not the items.
