Is there any plans for a powered down mech timer. I am seeing this more and more now that the last mech or 2 on a skirmish map run and hide and power down. After every mech on the map (Tourmaline) searched for 8 minutes for a powered down mech it became evident that this is a problem. People are worried about their gloriuos kill/death ratio and are willing to make everyone wait for the end of the match. Maybe if they power down for a minute they get painted with a beacon that lasts 2 minutes. It's just aggravating and definately a turn off for newcomers to the game.

Or at least an option for them to surrender so they can leave the battlefield so defeated but not destroyed. But yes it is very annoying
In same game modes hiding then caping the base is a good valid tactic

Or tuning higher the BAP range for detecting powered down mech.... Omg the machinegun shoot range bigger than bap detecting range....

this is only an issue in skirmish mode. and it's working exactly how everyone wanted it to. for the past year, there were players screaming for a mode that's just deathmatch with no bases. guess now they have to live with it.
however, it would be cool to see an eject feature with animation. mechs should automatically eject pilots when they die now.

You guys wanted a straight pew pew game mode. Deal with it like every other game mode. Search them out.

dont play skirmish if it bothers you. Assault and conquest can overcome this with base capping.
Skirmish removes the bases, thus causing this to occur, and by joining skirmish games you sign up for participating in this.
If you are dead you can however disconnect and join a game with a new mech, if not, do you job and hunt the enemy down mechwarrior!

Surrender would be abused much like hiding for KDR whores.

Thus the beauty of assault and conquest... Alternate Victory Conditions !! WOW !

All modes generate situations in which the one or two mechs left alive have no chance of winning. Requiring that all pilots still alive agree on surrendering would prevent abuse.

Change out of bounds to a chance to "LEAVE THE BATTLEFIELD" option. Sans the blown up mech. Would be you exiting the map.

Their Mech should also turn yellow and, then they earn a new forum badge with a lame chicken on it.

Well not so much shame as strategic withdrawal. Being a merc...Not economically feasable to always fight to the death. Just saying.
