just about everyone agrees with you but we don't have it yet. The only option you have at this point are the various TS servers or using the "integrated" C3 option. Personally I've tried both and like TS better. You might check them out and find some PUGs to play with on there

I used to agree with this but now am not so sure. After seeing what some people type in chat, I am convinced any VOIP MUST have a mute feature and turns off if you are dead. This is because I can only imagine what the following will be like over Voice.

These are all things I have seen in General text chat just in 3 recent days of play, a few hours each day, always from the other team win or lose.

-----------------------------------------------------------
Player{Dead}: damn losers
Player{Dead}: fail team
Player{Dead}: cannot believe you let me die
-----------------------------------------------------------
Player{Dead}: good job hiding, cowards
Player{Dead}: plz all uninstall the game
-----------------------------------------------------------
Player{Dead}: **** u team
Player{Dead}: you guys r so dumb
-----------------------------------------------------------
Player{Dead}: mother
Player{Dead}: *******
Player{Dead}: gawd...
Player{Dead}: you {Richard Cameron}...
Player{Dead}: -,- extremely displeased with your contempary gaming action and stature
Player{Dead}: do please burn in hell
-----------------------------------------------------------
Said when we had a T-Bolt left damaged against 4, he was using cover to get into safe firing positions.

Opposing Player{Dead}: is your last guy turned off?
Me{Dead}: no
Opposing Player{Dead}: is he a chicken ****?
Me{Dead}: no and stop being stupid
-----------------------------------------------------------
Player{Dead}: YOU KILLED ME YOU *****
Player{Dead}: YOUR DEAD NEXT GAME I SEE YOU
Player{Dead}: EVEN IF YOU ARE ON MY TEAM
-----------------------------------------------------------

I stil have screenshots to prove 4 of these.

Now honestly, do you REALLY want to hear this stuff over VOIP? Especially if you are still alive and trying to play. They would need to add a MUTE feature, also if you die, you get turned off.

PUGing will get really interesting and worse if they just flip a switch to turn on VOIP with this type of 'conversation' happening. The 'quality' of conversation that will occur will push people out of the game.

This is one reason why I only play now and again recently, not as often as before. If they do not include these 2 items I mention, I may hardly play or leave the speakers / headset unplugged. I would rather no sound than hear any of this.

Forget VOIP, find some 3rd party server and play with people who have a basic grasp of language and don't ***** about everything.

EDIT - well, now I know what a {Richard Cameron} is. ;)

agreed mute option is a must. I don't want to listen to some 13 year old talk about his "elite skillz" and how the rest of his team "suxxorz" for 10 minutes
