Hello,

here is a build of the Atlas AS7-RS, which uses the holy power of blue coherent light to clean all star systems from enemy mechs. Therefore its codename is "Paladin".
It uses 4 Large Lasers and as many (24) double heat sinks this chassis can carry with this weapons. The mech moves at 56.7 kph due an 350 standard reactor.

Loadout:

Upgrades: Double Heat Sinks: yes, Endo Steel: no, Ferro Fibrous: no, Artemis: no

Head: AMS Ammo
Center Torso: Standard Engine 350, 4 additional Heat Sinks
Right Torso: 4 Double Heat Sinks
Left Torso: 4 Double Heat Sinks
Right Arm: 2 Large Laser, 1 Double Heat Sink
Left Arm: 2 Large Laser, 1 Double Heat Sink, AMS
Right Leg: empty
Left Leg: empty

Amor (576/614):

Head: 18 (max)
Center Torso: 96/28 (max)
Right Torso: 64/20 (max)
Left Torso: 64/20 (max)
Right Arm: 68 (max)
Left Arm: 68 (max)
Right Leg: 65 (of 84)
Left Leg: 65 (of 84)

Weapon groups:
Group 1: All Weapons, Group Fire
Group 2: All Weapons, Chain Fire
Group 3: Weapons Left Arm, Group Fire
Group 4: Weapons Right Arm, Group Fire

Tactics: Stay a little behind and melt your targets with alpha strikes in the center or (if XL reactor) side torso. You can also go for head shots (1 alpha should be enough). If the heat rises too high, use weapon group 2. If an obstacle blocks one of your arms, use weapon groups 3 or 4.

Alternatives: You can use the same build with ER Large Lasers. Their range is higher, but their heat also. The damage is the same.

Notes: This mech is very cheap to run, because you do not have to pay ammo (except for the AMS) and it uses no expensive components.

I was thinking of running the same thing, almost exactly.

I'd also like to try a similar build with 4 PPCs.

Go find a Cat sitting still and just pop the cockpit. <3

I use a similar build.
Differences: 200std engine
Single heat sinks
2x LLaser
2xER LLaser

ER's in one arm, regs in the other.
When heat builds up, I shut down whichever set is not in the optimal range. IE: under 450yds I stop firing the ERs. I'm not sure which does more dmg per heat between 450-675 so I just use whichever is closer to optimal at that point.
You do have to reposition sometimes if obstacle get in the way, but (surprise) about half the time the right weap for the job is in the correct arm.
It's it's a midrange powerhouse with excellent heat control and well able to handle whatever runs up on you or tries to slug it out at longish range. With the small engine, i wanted to be effective at any range because it's not outrunning anything and is not quick to reposition.

It's great fun. And this was before double heat sinks.
