just a build i came up with fiddling with smurfy, havent tested it and probably wont be to for a little while but you know how it goes, looks ok on paper but would it perform?

what would one call this kind of machine tho... a bowjack? (its called the arrow and the gauss is like drawing a bow)

another note would be that you can replace the pulses with normal small lasers if you prefer a set jump jets or moving a little faster with a bigger engine.

Good name for it, BowJack.

I'm not a Gauss fan, but I'm sure it would work well as a sniper. You could snipe until the end of the match and then go in and clean up in a big way with those short range weapons.

The 'mech is a little too squishy for my tastes. You've stripped armor from the legs and the side torsos, yet you're also running an XL engine. At the same time you're also rather slow for a 45 ton mech, so you won't be dodging any shots.

I think the LB 10-X might be a better fit than the Gauss for this 'mech. I generally don't like the LB 10-X, but since you'll need to get in close to use your machine guns anyway it kindof makes sense in this case. That'll save you 4 tons, which is enough to swap your XL engine for a standard. Burst DPS of 12.7 which is very respectable for a 45-tonner, and I doubt you could overheat the thing in actual combat (at least not before dying ).

If you insist on running it as a sniper instead w/ the Gauss then you should definitely get some jump jets on there somehow.

With the recent AC range nerf it can't really be used for sniping, but it works great at mid and close ranges, particularly late game.

I like the concept of it, but I would say change the spl to ordinary small lasers and remove one heat sink then you can upgrade to a 225xl for more speed. and if that was me I would move the ammo away from the torso as even when fully armored thats the parts that seem to go first http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d167fb5992e543f


Or just remove the lasers completely and get another ton of gauss ammo and max the engine like this http://mwo.smurfy-ne...55767f36c53500. Or if you can handle the slower speed keep a lower engine and max out the armor

EDIT just realized your builds had zero JJs always take at least one when available.
