The recent hunchback hero is really making me think about these quirks. The hero hunchback has a positive quirk that is HUGE (37.5% faster torso twist speed, 10% faster torso pitch speed) Now this hunchback is fairly well rounded hard points, can do the common 3 ML AC20 build, while other variants may outclass it slightly in missles(wrong chassis for missiles), or more outclassed energy(energy boating kind of sucks due to ghost heat and heating system) I'd say this hero is probably one of the better hunchback variants, maybe the best, without even taking into account the positive quirk. Why does it get these positive quirks?

Why does it get positive quirks while say the 4 missile point jenner, which I haven't heard much of on forums and rarely see in game so probably means it sucks, get a negative acceleration quirk same with pretty baby or any others I've missed out on.

To be a proper guass rifle mech it needed the twist speed to hit something is my guess.

per the data on Smurfy's (pull directly from game files) the new hero is identical to other Huncbacks in terms of torso twist/yaw, and arm movement; in both range and speed.

the bonuses you're seeing are the medium mech bonuses they did months ago to make mediums suck less.

The Oxide according to some competitive players can run 4xssrms which can chew lights for breakfast. That's about it though, but it doesn't suck. Some heroes need a buff (why the hell PB has it's nerf is dumb, why the hell Jester has it's nerf is also dumb, should have more torso twist and no deceleration for them both.)

This Hunchback trades a single ballistic for dual Hunches and a single missile slot, which is absolutely stupid in my opinion, as this just means a better 4G is the only way to run it, as it sucks in all other ends. It should be at least two missiles for only a single ballistic, which would allow some missile usage. Now it's just stupid to use a missile. And the background of it also sucks bad.

Edit: as above, the torso twist isn't buffed.

Wrong. Look below the mech list on Smurfy and check out the Quirks section. The patch notes mention both an increase in pitch and twist speed, but Smurfy only lists the pitch increase. The grey line provides the baseline for the chassis, and the red denotes a decrease for the specific variant while a green number denotes an increase for that variant.

Doesn't matter anyways... I just killed one in my Dual AC/ 5 + Large Laser Shadowhawk with Jump Jets...

ShadowHAwk > any Hunchie any day of the week...

Until SRMS dont suck most Medium Mechs are garbage in this game

Yeah, they made the Grid Iron have the same amount of torso as the 4G.

PGI seems to be using a similar system as this one for deciding hero mech quirks.

Somehow most Devs at PGI must hate the Jenner...building a Hero Mech with soo many flaws is just sad.
While playing it, it does not even feel like running a Jenner, no JJ's and the massive acceleration/deceleration nerf makes it more a missile cicada on a diet...

at least dual AMS would have been funny...
