A long time ago I played a game called Mechforce which was programmed by a fan of the Battletech game. As arms and torsos were blown off the mech, the weight of the mech changed, and therefore the engine could move the 'mech easier (faster). If the engine took a hit there was a small reduction in speed as well. Destroyed components and armor still carried in locations still had weight so no change.
I'd like to see something similar in this game.
