- Damage dealt by LRMs (% of the overall dmg dealt)
- Same for SRMs, lasers, ACs
It would be interesting to know what weapon system does the most damage overall, and it could surprise some of us that some weapons don't do as well as we think. Do ACs do more than 50% of the damage? Are LRMs really the fearsome weapon some say they are? That's some stuff that'd be nice to know.

Im willing to bet in actual overall damage dealt the numbers will be ...
1. lasers. - Most common weapons in the game, on all lights and used as backup weapons on tons of mechs.
2 AC - High Alpha, People like them, easy to use.
3. PPC - Lot of jump snipers out there.
4. LRM/SRM? I think this is a toss up... can put them either 4 or 5 respectively. This is mostly due to the underuse of LRM and the hit reg problems of SRM

For me it's
60% energy (53% lasers, 7% PPCs)
20% ballistics
17% SRMs
3% LRMs
Can you tell I prefer running lights?

similiar for me. Though im actually a pretty well rounded player. That said my srm and balistic are a wee bit higher, though not by much. I admit a love for srm.

I'm most surprised that I've actually fired so little PPCs (or should I say, done so little damage with them...).

you know you want my hawt body jobe, dont lie *wink wink*
I think some of my stats are wonky because my play style has changed dramatically since I started. I may have higher lrm stats than I should since ive mostly abandoned using them these days.

....wait what?
What info are you looking for? Which weapons people are using more? Which is more accurate? Which does the most damage?

The only stat that's actually researched at PGI is Paul/Russ's mood level, which is why we often never see a change and when we do, it's out of left field and often very dumb.
If they were doing any kind of actual analytic stuff with the weapons, they'd be constantly tuning and we'd have a way better situation. We also wouldn't have them nerfing already subpar guns in favor of fixing broken ones.
I will bet you fifty dollars that Russ saw someone at Valve talking about how they review data and just tried to say the same things, because it's clear nobody is looking at the gun data in practice.

The majority of silent telemetry concurs balance has been quiet and measured when looked at obfuscatorily.

I would be interested in a correlation of Elo and Damage per shot fired, for each weapon.
I would be interested in a correlation of Ave Ping and damage per shot per weapon.
I would be interested in somehow correlating Elo with weapon selection.

We used to debate if they were looking at casuals over competitive players all the time
We used to debate what they were doing wrong with the analytics
Then I realized what was actually happening was none of it. Because NO MATTER what group, style, experience level, etc. you are playing in.. flamers aren't doing jack all and they've been untouched for nearly a year. The last time I saw someone take a NARC they were in a horrible stock 'mech.
The reason their data seems bad is they aren't getting data in the first place. We are seeing the mad, irrational changes brought on by what's happening in their closed off internal-office games without a single care given for the world outside it.
EDIT: I may joke that an AC/10 must have killed Paul and that brought this on, but it's only a half joke. If this were fact it would not surprise me.

I wanna know the number of players that actively play this game, thats a stat that most companies will release. What confidence can we actually have if they wont even allow us to know how many people log on and play a day for more than one match?
