Not really. Better than it was before perhaps.. Skirmish mode tends to have a great deal more brawling in it during later stage battles, at least in PUG games. Possibly because flanking takes place more freely than in Assault.

Since you left they have tried repeatedly to nerf jump sniping and high long range alphas.

They failed.


Winning involves taking 4 Highlanders/Stalkers/Victors, with 2 PPCs + ACs, and sniping anyone that pokes any part of their mech out from cover - and spamming strikes every 10 seconds as well.

Fun times.

Welcome back! Since you left SRM's haven't received a buff to give brawlers the in close 'punch' they used to have...but the hit registration on heavies and assaults is pretty solid. Mediums are iffy and lights...well...it's a dice toss.

Your ELO and 12's are seeing mainly long-range alpha strike in the form of 2PPC/2AC5 or UAC5 with jumpjets when possible...

Having the most fun these days in 4-mans taking non-meta builds and making the most of them...not totally outclassed when playing against skilled pilots with 'the meta' but at a slight balance disadvantage.

Why would you say that? It is a known fact that Sheep will follow the herd. I was using PPC/Gauss before it became vogue, then I moved on to something else. But the complaint I am reading is, "how Dare a group stoop to using a set of equipment that improves their ability to win!" :rolleyes:

It is a game that is simulating SciFi warfare and armies aren't known for using a wide variety of equipment (Let's see US Military uses a Assault rifle, a Machine Gun, a Grenade launcher. Then they use a similar sampling in heavy weapons. Logistics counts and an arm is supposed to be as efficient as it is formidable. Sure its a game, but its a war game and armies are nothing if not repetitive and uniform. :)
