Crashed to Desktop? Fatal Error? Frozen? Let us know what happened here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]
In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.

Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders
Otherwise, please use our new repair tool, which will verify your game directory files and repair any file issues:http://mwomercs.com/...public-release/
Remember to contact us at support@mwomercs.com with your dxdiag for additional 1-to-1 support from our Game Masters!

To find your crash dumps for support, the file is labelled "crashdump.dmp" and the default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER

My first match after installing the patch the game crashed to desktop with a memory allocation error, but deleting the shaders folder as suggested in the original post appears to have solved the problem, three matches without any crashes.

Four black screens, two crash to desktops with no errors, one random launcher disappearance, a death to non ending lava damage bug that melted my legs off slowly and destroyed my heat efficiency, and one death to out of bounds after receiving no out of bounds message or call out. All just in this evening of play.

SO the newest patch lets my GPU overheat/shut down I don't know. my monitor shuts down and after I restart I get the 3 or 4 beeps from bios that GPU is not working/connected a second restart fix it and the monitor and GPU work again. my settings in the game are in lowest of low and I get to mech bay and I can play a few seconds. every thing is fluid. No lags. It happens in the mech bay and when I am in a match after guessed 30 secs. No such thing before the patch thing did happen. I could play and every thing was fine.

Every thing was patched and is up to date.

If there is a error message I cant say because my GPU stops working :-( so I can tell.

Hello,

since recent patch the game has started crashing again. Yesterday I got a blue screen of death, and today I had a crash to desktop.

When I tried to restart the client, I enter my login password and attempt to login and then it gives me this error message:

CryEngine Error

FRead did not read expected number of byte from file, only 128 of 0 bytes read

I don't get crashes for ANY other PC game I currently have installed. I ran repair tool yesterday after I got blue screened. Please help.

I frequently (just about every time I think) crash when exiting MWO, I took a screenshot of the error message here:

I don't know what specs you might need or want, but here's my DX Diagnostic if that's of any help.

I patched, started my premium time and prepared to mech for a few days that I have off.

Since then, I've lost server connection on every single fricken' match I've tried to play. It's happened for two days now. I get a decent ping, my connection to other sites and streaming is great, but without warning I drop to a black screen half way through a match.

Please fix this! My premium time is wasting away!

Patched and launched. Logged in thru the client, whilst loading, game crashes, no error message. Just crashes in the laoding screen between Login and Mechbay.

Edit: Running repair tool fixed it.

Still getting random freezes after about a minute of time into the game.

Screen and sound freezes up. Sound sometimes switches and loops another sound after a few seconds.

In very rare occasions the game is able to un-freeze and resume after a minute or so.

Have you run the repair tool? It is generally best practice to run it after every patch just in case anything got corrupted http://mwomercs.com/...public-release/

The Mechlab has a high chance of locking up while trying to exit the game. This appears to be most likely with
1. No matches played
2. Only having tried out something in the Training Grounds

EDIT:
The previous assumptions seem to be without much meaning, since it freezes the same way after any number of games played...

Also, while most in-game freezes have disappeared compared to some months ago, the game has a high chance of freezing while being in the Training grounds. There it will freeze either during the first few seconds, or while moving the upper torso sideways for the first time.

ATI Radeon HD 5850 (Catalyst 13.1, atiumdag 9.12.0.0)
